Thank you for that. It really has been something watching this unfold. Anyone else have the same arc as me?

>Week 1: Yep, Ukraine's fucked
>Week 2: Ukraine's fucked, but they're going to leave a mark
>Week 3: Wait a second, Ukraine might actually have a chance
>Week 4: Holy shit, I'm starting to think Russia's fucked
>Week 1: Yep. Ukraine's fucked
>Week 2: Ukraine is pushing back
>Week 3: Ukraine is pushing back
>Week 4: Doesn't exist yet because it's March 18th and this started on February 24th

Apparently at least 1 in 3 "Ukranians" swarming to Europe aren't Ukrainian at all, and there was the girl in Germany who got raped by Iraqi and Nigerian Ukrainians just a couple days ago. But yeah, generally speaking, the kind of people who become refugees aren't the kind of people you want to be around. It's just international panhandling, and nobody likes bums.

I've heard about Ukies being entitled assholes in Hungary, walking into stores and demanding free shit, hassling the locals and whatnot. No idea if it was gypsies or just Voloydimyr Zelensky tho.
Even in a European refugee crisis the fucking Germans find a way to get raped by arabs.

My tinfoil theory is that this was all orchestrated by the US military industrial complex to justify its existence as the War on Terror winds down. Instead of Washington telling Zelensky to let Donetsk and Luhansk go and trying to solve things diplomatically, they goad Putin into starting a real war in Europe and encourage Zelensky to keep fighting.
I doubt the MIC can pull strings in Russia (Well maybe Oligarchs) but they certainly fucked around with the Hohols to get them to agitate Russia. It's definitely to keep their stocks up and I think they really need a war to forget the failure in Afghanistan.

I'm holding off on Ukraine pushing back, but with these counteroffensives near Kherson, if, and that's big if, they manage to recapture it that puts Russia in a horrible spot. Will wipe away their only major city they've captured so far, will make them lose their only foothold west of the Dnieper in the southern region, and could even threaten their supply lines emerging from Crimea.

Ukraine and what army? Not being pedantic, is there some Ukrainian army moving freely in eastern Ukraine that can move to retake Kharkhiv? Whoever is inside there is at the mercy of Russian artillery so they're not going to retake it from the inside.

You’re thinking of Kherson. Where the Russians lost a bunch of helicopters to artillery strikes because they kept putting helicopters there despite it being shelled. Again and again.

Kharkiv is far closer to the border and in the north east, and has chewed up the 200th Motor Rifle Brigade and chunks of the 4th Guards Armored division again and again during this.

Damn it, I keep mixing up Kherkiv and Kherson. But the Ukrainians managed a counterattack from Mykolaiv and pushed them at least halfway to Kherson.

The Ukies have had pretty good results with using their police and border security units as light infantry.
This is KORD engaging Russian armor.
Those tanks look like they're already disabled and abandoned.
There's no infantry support around them either, in a wooded area.
The ukrainians are just walking around as if there's no real urgency.
I could be wrong though, it just looks awkward.

Russkies don't need to steal "Ukrainian" ammo to injure themselves (it's the same ammo :story: ) and this story came from a 21 yo YouTuber in Poland whose family got chased out of Belarus after the 2020 glow ops failed, so Imma press doubt on this one but I hear those damn Rooskies are gonna blow up Chernobyl any day now so maybe we'll get an angry Slavic Godzilla fighting Hungarian Mothra
It still possible enough, but the scheme of soldiers to escape duty are known to any medic. It would suck hard to have an injury and get punished for it as it's patent malingering. Any Russian soldier tired of the mud north of Kyiv probably just walks or runs in whatever direction is safest.

I think someone posted a picture of a 14th century statue in Venice getting spraypainted with the Ukrainian flag. But if it was refugees and not some locals is up for debate.
right now propagandized westerners are unironically plastering more ukraine flags everywhere than actual ukrainians so this might actually be believable lmao
