@Wy4M

Those sand filled skirts with inserts (perhaps the inserts I saw on Telegram were scorched) are obsolete against modern anti tank and tank weapons, at least how the Russian ones are made. Yet only introduced six years ago. Although the Ukrainian did get the leavings of anti tank German weaponry and other junk at the start, they now have weapons which make the skirts not too relevant, or only marginally helpful in dissipating the force of a projectile. It becomes even less relevant given how poorly these tanks seem to be used in urban areas, where every angle becomes available to men at every angle from ground to high in tower blocks.

Way to miss the point, you said they were egg cartons. It's not news that Russian tanks are pretty much entirely ineffective against modern anti-tank weapons.
It's also noteworthy you are now an expert on what you were calling egg cartons before.

Having been in that line of work for a 21-year military career, and having actually worked at an alphabet agency, can assure you we have plenty of people/facilities devoted to studying foreign weapons/equipment. Am also quite sure we were able to track launch/deployment of this weapon.
Yet our alphabet agencies were really stunned after the dissolution of the USSR about their military capabilities and materiel, strategy and overall defensive posture. Robert Gates said most of the glowie assumptions about the USSR were wrong. They're people, like us, who aren't always right, or come to the right conclusions.

We had a lot of higher ups that were spying for the USSR (like Hansen for one). Chinese spies are all over the place and we keep uncovering Cuban spies. Even our allies have spies (Pollard for example). Now we rely mainly on tech instead of HUMINT which is a mistake (9-11 is a good example).

I'm not saying our intel is always wrong, I'm saying its not 100%, Nothing ever is.

Don't get me started on James Jesus Angleton, talk about a lolcow.

As the thread title says, Ukrainian Liars vs Russian Liars

Part of the problem was our Intel was actually good, we were getting the same reports their leaders were. Those reports however were full of shit.

Nah, our glowies were shocked after the USSR broke up and they saw who, like Ukraine, got to keep what. Which agencies and departments reorganized. For example, they were shocked at the size, scope and capabilities of the Soviet bioweapons apparatus. It wasn't that we didn't know, we just didn't have solid details, and in war the devil is in the details.

The sequel to the cold war fucking sucks man. Leftists are calling openly for the killing of anyone who doesn't staple a Ukrainian flag to their head, and beg for Zelensky's Jewsssss ladydick, and the right is impotent to the point of virtue-signal whining on Twitter and doing nothing to stop the madness.

Obligatory (correct) Jew media:

I was explaining this to a ladyfriend of mine the other day. We watch the nightly news for fun (NBC) as they drone on and on about three day old news and tell us to love black people. This was the story last night....the bombing of the theater that was Totally Full Of Kids Guys.

Except if it was....we would have an assload of pictures of dead kids. I mean a metric shit ton blow up Twitter assload. How many do we have? Zero.

How many people died in that theater? Apparently.....zero. The media were walking around in the basement with cameras.....nobody dead. Nothing. But because Americans have the memory of a two year old...no one is asking questions about who blew the place up.

I meant more in terms of general production outputs. One other thing I've heard is that a big part of our misreading of the soviet union was due to the state department being filled with ivy league types who were rather fond of communism, so they tending to make more positive assumptions about how well it worked, as well as how happy people were with it.

Didn't help anytime those ivy league types went to the USSR they where drinking themselves blind.

I will remember until the day I die - just how quickly and effortlessly the Levant media was able to switch the plebs' attention from ""Global extinction event COVID"" to ""Russia is Bad 24/7"". They say ignorance is bliss, but I disagree. I'll take being jaded over being a brainwashed slug any day.

A big part of our misreading was, and is, confirmation bias, like X says Y is true, so it must be true, and you contradict him at your own peril. It was an old boys Ivy League/Oxbridge club and disregarded anything outside that bubble, which ironically led to it being infiltrated. The VENONA Project is a good example. Angleton was a rabid anti-communist yet refused to believe Philby was a spy despite solid evidence and proof.

Every person in Russia is bad and needs to be punished but the people who protested in Moscow are all stunning and brave, but if they want to use Pornhub and Netflix then tough titty they should of been born Syrian.

I am holding out hope that people get slapped hard in the face with this reality. But I doubt it. I was never a "the media is conspiring" conspiracy nut, but I figured I knew what was going on. Mostly I didn't bother listening, I knew it was BS. Russiagate\Trump years had me wondering what the fuck, are they actually doing this? Covid woke me up, and the BlueFlagForLife War Forever bullshit nailed the coffin shut. Most people on this planet are either brainwashed retards, or full blown retards. There is no grey area.

...now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Yeah, Philby also had the whole British class system to help him out there as well. He was far from the only one. Cold War espionage was a cluster fuck, and definitely one area the soviets surpassed us in most of the time.
