100% agree with this. I'm usually a pretty empathic person with most controversial topics. But the fact that even the most reasonable trans people consider me a bigot for just questioning minor problems is what tipped me over the line. It's a constant fight of genuine sympathy and schadenfreude. You can only be called bigoted, sexist, transphobe, etc so much before cracking.

If you attach grafts to something doing that poorly you're just begging for the graft to fail. Other types of revisions are generally made after the initial surgery has healed for several months. If you cut a new scar there is a higher chance of problems - it can expand or contract, worst case scenario it turns keloid and never stops growing.

There are basically two camps now - the ones who despise the idea of having surgery in order to appease "cis" people and make them comfortable, and the ones who want to reap the benefits of being assimilated as much as possible into male or female society. I think you could expect to see a push from some quarters of trans activists encouraging others not to get surgeries and to stop considering them the "end goal." I have definitely seen that rhetoric pushing back against "passing." But it's also impossible to find support for allowing trans women into women's spaces unless they've had the chop; most people assume that is what is always happening and are appalled when they learn many people keep their junk. Sex and gender is really becoming a dividing line in the community - is it more important to live out your desired social role, or to look like your desired sex? You are either ruining parts of your body, the parts that allow you to be a sexed and sexual being, or ruining your ability to access the gendered world you want.

Another problem, though, is the fact that many trans people still do not "pass" even after all of the hormones and surgery. There is a limit to what can be done from a hormonal or surgical standpoint for a MTF as the shape of the skull of a post-pubescent male and the bodily proportions are something that are a dead giveaway. The same thing goes for FTMs as most of them end up looking like anorexic, flat-chested women.

This highlights the fact that trying to be something you can never be is a futile effort, and it would only make said individuals more unhappy in the process. I realize that this is the Farms, but taking off the troon mockery hat for a moment, and trying to be nice about this, there are aspects of ourselves we cannot change, and whether you are a man or a woman is one of them. Why is it so hard to look at the reasons why these people are so compelled to be something they are not and try and unpack them?

I realize that an argument can be made that people should be allowed to do with their bodies how they wish, but with something like GRS, and all of the associated medical complications and limitations that go with it, I do not see why this is not considered medical malpractice, much like no reputable plastic surgeon would implant a railroad spike into somebody's skull just because somebody thought it would be cool to have their "head pierced".

The only surgery he needed was to correct his droopy eyelid. Now his face is just weird and from the side it's grotesque. It looks like he has a genetic disorder. Removing that much bone from the jaw can't be good. I wouldn't be surprised if he has nerve damage & or other problems. Note that weird curve on his forehead where his hairline starts. Wtf? The surgeon really fucked up.
