True, but from what I can see giving Russia a (post hoc) justification is the least of the problems they caused for Ukraine. I'm more referring to the fact that instead of getting results, they're getting felted, the fact that they're using their own people as meat shields and, if I understood the situation in Mariupol' correctly, the fact that they're willing to drag said civilians down with them in a showdown with the Russians like direct-to-DVD action movie villains that have lost the fucking plot. I'm by no means a military expert, but I fail to see how that is beneficial to Ukraine's war effort.

It would honestly not surprise me if after the war we learn that Azov may have been more of a burden to the Ukrainian army than a boon.
Azov isn't really much different than any other National Guard formation. They just have the highest profile and a disproportionate amount of propaganda made by them and against them. Rumors abound.

I put it up there with Saddam not allowing the UN and IAEA to conclusively disprove Iraq-WMD because he was concerned Iran would invade if they knew Iraq couldn't hit back with VX gas. Bush still would've found a reason, like a tenuous al Qaida link, or some Tonkin Gulf type incident.

Zelensky and his predecessors needed the Azov Battalion to fight Russian militias in 2014-2019. He probably should've sold them out after that, but then it'd be a bad look for everyone else in the country. It was a rock and a hard place.

Fight against the Russians while the rest of the country is too corrupt to care? You get sold out for being a neo Nazi. Sorry not sorry lol. Plz don't have mass surrenders and desertion if and when Russia invades.

Maybe if he was a real politician and didn't just play one on TV, he would've found some patsies to scapegoat. That would've been a good compromise.

@JosephStalin you were a military man right? Can you answer this question my friend had? He asked that since it seems the currently accepted military doctrine is that infantry have to support armored vehicles/tanks, why are we seeing Russian tanks going without any infantry support? Especially when they're entering urban areas with tall buildings all around them, like the Azov footage we've seen days ago?
My guess - insufficient infantry available. Have heard Russian infantry is in short supply, seemingly like many things on the Russian side (trucks, fuel, food, smart munitions).

Another is reason is probing defenses, lose a tank and you just replace tank, lose a warm body and you have no one else to operate in the area.

It tracks somewhat with criticisms I've heard about the battalion tactical group. Apparently (though everyone is speaking with the benefit of hindsight now) they're somewhat lacking in terms of infantry, compared to how many vehicles the BTG contains. Other main criticism I've seen is that the BTG only has 5 fuel trucks which is, so they say, far too little for all the trucks and tanks they're meant to keep supplied.

I don't know how it is for Russia but for non-shit countries losing the tank crew is arguably a bigger hit than the tank. The tank is just easier to quantify.
But this is Russia so... yeah maybe not.

I think Russia's military just has different (retarded) doctrine that is difficult for western brains to comprehend without study.

Do we have any idea how much of Russia's infantry consists of conscripts? As we saw a week or so ago, it seems Putin can't freely deploy people conscripts serving their year of mandatory military service with risking a real backlash in Russia. And infantry seems a likely place to put people who'll only be in for a year of service over something more specialized.

As an American I view Euros as merely white niggers. They have a history of doing nothing but chimping out with each other over there. Only the US and Russia kept them from going ape all the time. Now they're wanting to chimp out once again except now that the US has a dementia President they want to get rid of Russia and force us to join in their monkey behavior. The Azov Nazi larp is just the latest example. We should tell them they're on their own if they want to kill each other. We won't though because we don't have a strong President to keep our own chimps in line, let alone the white niggers in Europe and defense contractors keep plying our niggers in Congress with hookers and blow. So they'll keep the party in the crackhouse White House going until we're all dead from +10 RADS/sec.

tl;dr everyone is a nigger and they're going to kill us all

I said at the beginning it's like the Russians have a red army mindset to their equipment, "just throw more stuff in". They etheir don't care or it can be replaced easily for them, so might aswell use it to probe for ambushes.

Video from the tweet in question.
That Twitter guy kinda fucked up the story. As the war was kicking off, Ukrainian meatheads jumped another Ukrainian meathead for training in Chechen MMA gym, then uploaded the video mocking him using that exact phrase, he's the fella with with a towel duct-taped 'round his head in the video below.
Now Chechen meatheads are grabbing random surrendered Ukrainians and teaching 'em "how to say it properly":

Has anyone else had the revelation when talking to normies about the war and they bring up WWII. That they don't seem to realise that involved a European country invading Russia? Sure they probably know it, but whatever way that conflict is structured in their head. They seemingly don't recognise that aspect.
I guess your talking to burger normies.
Americans are obsessed with WWII and everything has to be some form of it.
The losing streak the USA has been on since 1945 is just memory holed.

Eh, I dislike that joke. While it's true that the US did spend millions to create a pen that could write in space, it definitely wasn't wasted. While pencils did work, if their lead broke, it could fly around in their vessel potentially damage machinery.
Fun fact, the russians adopted the pen too
