If true (a big if for a 'source' often means 'made it up') it would suggest Putin is deeply angered at the losses suffered through Western provided weapons to Ukraine. Putin will be as Samson if he orders an attack on Poland. If this is it, farewell all.

Personally even though i am biased here, there is a serious claim by the Danish royal family as Maria Feodorovna was by many whites considered to be "empress in exile" while in Copenhagen, she denied the title only because she thought that Nicholas might still be alive. Other than that it would be the Romanov pretender prince Karl of leiningen that would be selected is my guess.

It's unknowable. The complete lack of attribution is concerning, but Russian diplomats seem more minded about leaving Poland, burning papers and so on, but it is likelier to be someone putting their own construction on things, plausible but made up. Complete dunno.
