Globohomo mad that Putin stopped Western oligarchs from looting Russia and they want to break it so they can get back at it. The geopolitical shit around this conflict is wild and could be massively consequential, but tons of people are treating this as nothing more than football game. Blows my mind, but MPAI.

Trying to pull that on Russia would quite literally be entirely capable of starting nuclear war. This isn't just fearmongering over "Putins crazy he'd yeet nukes", this would quite literally be a complete destruction of the concept of Russia and its entire sovereign power. Coming in and saying we will dictate what of your history is acceptable, what of your people is acceptable, what of your politics is acceptable, and how your nation will function and operate according to our whims.

No sane nation would accept any of this, much less a sane nuclear power. Place Russia's score on sanity from 0-100 as you see fit, the answer doesn't change.

Aren't ICBM much larger, slower, visible to radar and worse maneuvering? Hypersonic missiles are specifically made to counter things like Aegis. I'm no weapons expert by any means.

They also tend to move in a straight line, so if their path can be predicted, they can be shot down. Laser weapons will probably supplement and then replace the Aegis system, starting a new cat and mouse game between lasers, microwaves, and hypersonics.

From what I understand, the nasties on both sides have reentry vehicles which accompany the warhead(s), each with it's own chaff/ECM/decoy array, along with being able to run evasion patterns & being maneuverable in the terminal phase. It's pretty terrifying because if they're not nailed in ascent, MIRVs don't come down like in Missile Command (anymore).

It's effectively the Morgenthau Plan, but Russia, and I agree that's it's insane. If I had any faith in Globohomo being reasonable I'd say it's too insane to have any grounding in reality. I don't, however, have any faith in Globohomo not being dangerously retarded at this point.

This thread has been fun as hell to watch the Russian army make all the same mistakes they would have made if they were still Soviet Russia.

One thing that really stands out is the difference in training between the US and Russia.

Funny that 30 years later they still have the same training problems that were addressed by the US after the USSR fell apart and we got good data from Soviet troops.

A lot of people don't realize just how much training goes into being a REMF.

And if there's one thing this whole shitshow has shown is REMF Lyfe 4Ever and the E4 Mafia are fucking vital.

I was talking to a few friends about it and they literally could not understand how Russia got bogged down or how a 'modern' army could end up out of fuel, parts, ammo, medical supplies. They kept saying "But, yeah, the US does it so Russia should be able to do it too!" I tried to explain stuff like training time, hands on vehicle time, live fire range time, field exercises, all of that, and they just kept saying "Yeah, but Russia..." I even pointed out that the two ammunition dump explosions that I knew of showed that proper doctrine wasn't followed to minimize secondary explosions and that ad-hoc ASP's and ATP's have to be put together in a certain way to keep one missile from blowing it the fuck out. "YEah, but Russia is a world class military..." was their response.

Well, their "world class" military does less training than Bumfuck Ohio's Nasty Girlz and now it fucking shows. Plus, the Ukraine are basically untrained conscripts.

They also can't seem to grasp the concept of "acceptable losses" at all. Apparently war is supposed to be bloodless and if a battle results in a single casualty for your side, well, you obviously lost the battle and maybe even the war.

It is funny to see all of this shit.
