Megathread SRS and GRS surgeons and associated horrors - the medical community of experimental surgeons, the secret community of home butchers

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Slight PL, but somebody in my extended family got hers removed at 28 because she had severe endometriosis. I did not know that they would let you do this; in terms of keeping the discarded uterus as I thought that they would want to do a pathological analysis on the uterine specimen just in case.
Most don't, just like how foot taco guy in Reddit is a rarity. Because then as soon as its detached from your body it's considered "medical waste" and you have to make up some religious exemption bullshit to keep it. But if you ask me you ought to be able to, in the US at least I pay out the ass to get it removed, I'm keeping the goddamn body part you fucking vultures.

They normally don't, but when you're trans you're allowed to do whatever you want all the time!

Would there really be much left of it after the pathology lab gets finished with the organs?

They probably would want to examine it in cases such as that of your family member. But perhaps in these cases, when the only thing wrong with these people is between their ears, maybe they figure, "eh, it's likely a perfectly healthy organ anyway, no need to check it out." Pretty grim.

>mfw balding at like 23 to the point where you have the hitler haircut
Medical question incoming, is balding extremely common in TiFs because women's bodies are not equipped to handle testosterone or is that just a consequence of this thread picking out the absolute worst-looking ones of the bunch? That kind of balding would be unusual in a natal man under 40.

There's definitely the start but not sure about the finish, not gonna rewatch and check lol once was enough
There's the first few minutes then a time-lapse for the rest. I did a quick google search and could not find a start-to-finish one other than a computer mockup showing how it is supposed to work.

Disclaimer: Not a medfag, just know some of this information due to the fact people I grew up with trooning out.

I believe it's a bit of the fact that they are dosing themselves with T all of the sudden, and some do not properly dose because they want to pass faster. That's how you get the voices that sound like Beast Boy from teen titans. They damage their vocal chords by not doing the proper training or increasing the T dose gradually, so a lot of them end up with a really messed up voice after they go through '2nd puberty.'

I believe it also has to do with genetics. But mostly dosing issues, not listening to the endocrinologist, and taking too much to pass quicker leads to the baldness. If any actual medical professional can confirm and deny my observations I would be grateful.
I thought it was mostly genetics. Women tend to not go bald, but use T and allllllllllll that genetic tendency comes out in spades.

the pathologist usually cuts the specimen up as part of the exam. They measure different parts of it for reference. Some of it might go on to cytology or histology for more analysis (of the cells or tissues, respectively). so there is usually a lot of substance left over, but it isn't in good condition.

The problem isn't the biohazard involved. if you get a tooth pulled or you need your head shaved for surgery you can keep either of those things without any problem. those are "dry" specimens. Or if you lost a fingernail... I am trying to think of examples of specimens that aren't "wet", but it is really rare. most of you is quite hydrated, and so the real problem is that everything "wet" gets put in chemicals so it doesn't rot. The chemical solution that keeps things preserved is called Formalin, it is diluted formaldehyde, and it is extremely hazardous to your health. That is why people are generally not permitted to take anything home, no one wants to get sued when a patient hurts themselves, gets cancer, or contaminates something with the chemicals. its extremely fuckin serious, there are federal laws and state laws in place to try and prevent anyone from just pouring that shit down the drain. Anything that can keep meat good in a jar for years (without any other process such as canning) is bound to be very bad for anything still alive. disposal usually involves combining it with other chemicals to get less harmful by products & diluting it. there are things called material safety data sheets (MSDS) for industrial chemicals, its very informative. they list the known harms of anything a person may end up working with.
here is the material safety data sheet for formalin:

the doctor broke some pretty serious laws here. I want to highlight some stuff from the MSDS, keep in mind that the patient is not mentally stable, and the doctor still sent her home with something that has the following hazards:
Acute Effects of Exposure

Ingestion (Swallowing): Liquids containing 10 to 40 percent formaldehyde cause severe irritation and inflammation of the mouth, throat, and stomach. Severe stomach pains will follow ingestion with possible loss of consciousness and death. Ingestion of dilute formaldehyde solutions (0.03-0.04 percent) may cause discomfort in the stomach and pharynx.

Inhalation (Breathing): Formaldehyde is highly irritating to the upper respiratory tract and eyes. Concentrations of 0.5 to 2.0 ppm may irritate the eyes, nose, and throat of some individuals. Concentrations of 3 to 5 ppm also cause tearing of the eyes and are intolerable to some persons. Concentrations of 10 to 20 ppm cause difficulty in breathing, burning of the nose and throat, cough, and heavy tearing of the eyes, and 25 to 30 ppm causes severe respiratory tract injury leading to pulmonary edema and pneumonitis. A concentration of 100 ppm is immediately dangerous to life and health. Deaths from accidental exposure to high concentrations of formaldehyde have been reported.

Skin (Dermal): Formalin is a severe skin irritant and a sensitizer. Contact with formalin causes white discoloration, smarting, drying, cracking, and scaling. Prolonged and repeated contact can cause numbness and a hardening or tanning of the skin. Previously exposed persons may react to future exposure with an allergic eczematous dermatitis or hives.

Eye Contact: Formaldehyde solutions splashed in the eye can cause injuries ranging from transient discomfort to severe, permanent corneal clouding and loss of vision. The severity of the effect depends on the concentration of formaldehyde in the solution and whether or not the eyes are flushed with water immediately after the accident.
Chronic Effects of Exposure

Carcinogenicity: Formaldehyde has the potential to cause cancer in humans. Repeated and prolonged exposure increases the risk. Various animal experiments have conclusively shown formaldehyde to be a carcinogen in rats. In humans, formaldehyde exposure has been associated with cancers of the lung, nasopharynx and oropharynx, and nasal passages.

Mutagenicity: Formaldehyde is genotoxic in several in vitro test systems showing properties of both an initiator and a promoter.

Toxicity: Prolonged or repeated exposure to formaldehyde may result in respiratory impairment. Rats exposed to formaldehyde at 2 ppm developed benign nasal tumors and changes of the cell structure in the nose as well as inflamed mucous membranes of the nose. Structural changes in the epithelial cells in the human nose have also been observed. Some persons have developed asthma or bronchitis following exposure to formaldehyde, most often as the result of an accidental spill involving a single exposure to a high concentration of formaldehyde. Oxygen from the air can oxidize formaldehyde to formic acid, especially when heated. Formic acid is corrosive

How do you know that her medical waste is in formalin? In one video it was in her personal freezer at home and bloody. In another video, the body part is suspended in a jar filled with clear fluid. It makes sense to assume it is formalin, but remember, this person is mentally ill. Someone must have cleaned up the specimen after it defrosted and then put it in the jar. I don't want my mind to go there, but what if it is just in a jar of water?

Hey, I think somebody may have mentioned this before, but what's the suicide rate after people go through with SRS?
You really can't quantify that feeling when a man looks in the mirror and realizes his armhole looks like a tarantulas mouth after being exposed to the mechanical damage of a weed Wacker.

Troons really must be the mentally strongest people out there. How else would they not have a 100% suicide rate post-op after experiencing that?

you could very well be right. it is pretty difficult to discern the difference visually since formalin is mostly water. if we get any kind of update on this uterus that is more than a few days from the recording it can be reasonably assumed that it is chemically preserved. some thoughts I have on the hypothesis:

If it was not supposed to be preserved there isn't any real reason to have liquid in there at all. It isn't uncommon for pathology specimens to just be gobs of meat from surgery in a tub if they are sent to somewhere nearby (like in house pathology), in those cases the lab preserves it instead of the doctor.

it is possible she got her goobery uterus and decided it would look cooler in water. it will start to rot much more quickly that way though. when taxidermists want to clean the flesh off of bones to use for their projects, they put the dead animal in a tub of water and let it putrify outdoors. bacteria and bugs etc clean the meat off of it more efficiently than they can mechanically, and water makes it go faster than letting it rot on its own.
