Its already worse than 2008. The difference between 08 and now is that in 08 the near-depression was the result of the upper echelon being lazy and causing the housing bubble to collapse. Now the people in charge are intentionally trying (and succeeding) to murder the economy outright.
Every action has been done to collapse the Petrodollar and thus cause runaway inflation, which will lead to the dollar being killed for good.

I don't know what the going consensus is regarding a food crises, but the United States is a place that burns excess crops to keep prices at a fixed value. I do not foresee an actual food crises in the U.S. at all any time soon just due to the Russo-Ukrainian war. Something would have to go catastrophically wrong with the soil for that to ever happen.

I find the Greater Idaho idea fascinating because it seems to not just be one county that hosts a blue city that's surrounded by red counties like in the south. It is a bunch of counties fed up with Portland rule to the point where a true progressive can't deny the will of the people unless they were just more concerned with power. But that would never occur to progressives....

If Idaho wants them, and would even be willing to pay fair price for whatever is involved with utilities or roads, let the counties leave.
