It's sort of like how Japan doesn't have 'aircraft carriers' but maintains several Izumo-class helicopter carriers that could be easily modified to launch F-35s. Very coy about their capabilities those Japanese.
They haven't even been hiding it lately. They did rule out ski jumps, the Japanese want a real carrier, and while much of the US Military is not looking good we are the experts on carrier ops, and can likely get them up to speed faster than China can develop their own from scratch. With their ski ramps.

This is fucked lmao

They're called "cope slopes".

What military objectives and targets mattered in Western Ukraine for their long term plan? Just fucking shit up?
Idk but look at what isn't happening.

Despite all the free Nato weapons, Reddit volunteers, mass mobilization of any Ukie able to hold a rifle, Ukraine isn't able to send large scale reinforcements to the East or the South, because they'd get killed en route, and are needed to defend Kev anyway:
640px-2022_Russian_invasion_of_Ukraine.svg (1).jpg
No reinforcements means the bulk of Ukie forces pinned down in the east and south are guaranteed to lose, and there's a ticking clock counting down to defeat. The Russians can just keep firing shells and missiles at them until they surrender or die (slow but costly in civilian lives). Or they can brutally fight building to building (faster but costlier in Russian lives). Either way, Ukies will lose in these areas, unless there's some kind of unforeseen collapse in Russian morale/logistics/the political situation back in Moscow or Nato decides to invade. Ukies are hoping for some kind of miracle, but hope isn't much of a plan.

Once they lose, Russia frees up a lot of manpower to concentrate on targets west. They have a lot of options at that stage, but conquering the entire country doesn't look like a plausible one. More likely they'll try to force some kind of surrender in Kev to get Ukie High Command to sign a peace treaty with them.

I don't think this is some kind of 7D underwater chess by the Russians (they have done some very dumb stuff), it looks like a pretty basic strategy that they're executing reasonably well overall despite their own embarrassing mistakes. The risk to them is that the longer it takes to grind down Ukie resistance, the more likely things can go seriously wrong for Russia, up to and including an escalation to WW3.

I'm also not sure Zelensky will ever be allowed to sign any kind of peace treaty with them. His Western backers really don't want this war to end - Russians and Ukrainians killing each other forever suits them fine. They deliberately kept the Syrian war going for 11 years and counting now, nothing stopping them doing the same to Ukraine. And there's an excellent chance Zelensky would be murdered by Azov boys if he cedes any Ukie territory, however hopeless their position is. So Russia's best option for Ukraine might look something like the partition of Korea or Berlin, an uneasy ceasefire (but not peace) followed by unknown years of Cold War 2.0 (which is already well underway)

Why would you let your troops bring devices like that into war especially foreign territory where they would roam on Ukrainian networks providing Ukraine location data? Terrible opsec. Also unless there was no password they would have had to pick up a call, in which case you would think Ukraine would have banned Russian phones from roaming in Ukraine. This story doesn't seem to add up. But imagine a future where you get drone stuck by an autonomous drone because some zoomer in your battalion's phone pings starlink for a tiktok notification and it sends the data back to the CCP and it gets forwarded to the drone which uses your gps data to send a missile your way.

Its happened already

Ok Ruskies heads up, participating in this thread is now worth 3 to 5 M and/or 5 to 10 years.

those are "soldiers" maybe they dont count militia units in those numbers.
1. They probably don't count the National Guard (Росгвардия) either, the NG are cops.
2. I'm Russian so I have to note here I am legally prohibited from implying these numbers may be understated.

I have no opinion on the actual losses (I mean, it's Russia. We're good at some things but complete fuckups at others.) I do have an opinion on the over 9000 number the tabloid gave; I find it exceedingly unlikely that said tabloid's journo is both well-connected to come by the true body count AND retarded enough to publish it. (That rag is pro-government but gross and vile, reading it feels like getting molested by a geriatric pantysniffer.) I'm not saying whether it's plausible or not, I don't know; I'm only saying that a journo setting up another journo for prison rape by casually dropping a fake number is a more likely source of it than the Ministry of Defense.

The Holodomor was in the 1920's.
lol the discount joo propagandist can't get the decade right
There was a hunger in the Volga basin (Поволжье) during the 1920s, when Russia was still fighting the civil war AND repelling invaders from every country in the world that discovered at least one of: fire, the wheel, the digging stick.
The Great Value Holocaust is said to have happened in the 1930s, and many photos of its alleged victims are actually from the 20s Volga basin, with some late 20th century Arabs in the mix. There was indeed another hunger in 1932-1933s, caused primarily by tards in the Soviet government counting small market towns as grain producers. The lie is that it was a purposeful genocide of the Ukes: it wasn't, during the 1930s the USSR had been running mononationalist campaigns in the ethnic republics both outside and within the RSFSR (promotion of national "elites" even if incompetent and borderline illiterate, everyone has to learn the titular nation's language, etc). Stalin did a 180 on that in 1937.

I would normally agree, but bullying in the Russian army is not your average high school "bullying"
The term of service has been 1 year since 2008. No more hazing of first-years by second-years. Unless that faggot is older than he looks, he's still a pussy AND a retard (you can dodge the draft if you get accepted into a university).

Jeff Cassman, businessman and Catholic blogger polled business contacts in Ukraine.... Obviously his contacts are Ukrainian, but it is good to get things without the usual filter.
The filter is still there. An Anglo's business contacts aren't average Ukrainians. I bet if he asked his Russian business contacts, he'd get the same result (I mean exactly the same, blaming Russia, wanting NATO involvement, etc).

Pro-Russia source so take it as you want.
Why "Avdiivka" then? sus
(tank factory stopped production)

Certified bullshit. Uralvagonzavod has been sanctioned since 2014.
Many completely civilian factories got fucked harder than expected, for example some car manufacturers can't meet eco standards anymore; white paper is in short supply (we're switching to cream). UVZ was not.

I think they will take everything east of the Dnipier plus the rest of the coast of the Black Sea and turn the rest of Ukraine into a rump state.
We definitely want to take the rest of the coast now that the spesh op has stretched for so long but I think we'll fuck it up.

@Narcotics (can't quote your post)
"i don't think sanctions are an "existential threat" they've already made a roadmap for the future of their economy AND they've been openly bragging about how russian economy can survive even with all western sanctions they have over their shoulders. The kremlin is obviously being vague to keep NATO on their toes though."

They shouldn't be, but Putin is extremely fucking corrupt.
Remember that since 2001 it's been illegal to sell anything you imported into Russia unless you pay off the mafia.
PM: Let's suspend the parallel import ban for now...
People: fuck yes!
PM: ...for companies which have left the market.

wait why? this rewards companies which have left the Russian market, whose goods will now be cheaper for Russians to buy from competitive importers than those of "loyal" companies which are still mafia-controlled

PM: Also, let's raise the nontaxable import threshold to 1000 euros so people can import sanctioned tech and whatnot...
People: double fuck yes!
PM: ...for imports from the Tax Union [Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia]

are you fucking kidding me

Two Percent Misha should hang. Sokolov (the import mafia guy) should hang. Serdyukov should hang. Brilyov should get novichoked. Newsrooms should be cleaned with chlorine. Mikhalkov should be in the Krasnoyarsk penal colony sniffing cancer fumes. The journo-theatrical pedophile rat king (Gift of Life, Lighthouse, Khamatova, Moniava, Federmesser, Aleshkovsky) should be fed arsenic, and Gref of Sberbank should be made to apologize for his collusion with them.

I'm not even saying get rid of the oligarchs, by all means keep your mafia state. Keep the Rotenbergs, Usmanov, Deripaska, Chayka, even American Boy (just lock him up in his illegal estate, fucker's embarrassing), let them steal as they have. But Putin can't possibly consolidate power and sustain the state if he keeps promoting and elevating open enemies of the state and of himself. The average vatnik looks at the media and sees loyalty to the country, to the countrymen and -wamen, and/or to Putin isn't rewarded at all, while open traitors live in the lap of luxury on the taxpayer's kopeika.

All you’re saying is that the US prefers to let the political instability and chaos it causes kill millions rather than shooting them.
The three holy wars:
  • crusade
  • jihad
  • economic sanctions
"What's up, sons? Still fighting Russians?"
"What do you mean "(together)against Ukraine"?"
No, Dudayev would totally understand. Chechens are the superior race, and the conflict that matters most is the one between Chechen clans. The spesh op is a way for Kadyrovites to fight and kill their enemies, refugee separatists who are fighting on the side of Ukraine. Russians and Ukrainians are npc trash mobs, they (we) don't matter.

Why do you bother replying to zoomer boomers who think the KGB is a thing in 2022?
🇧🇾

China isn't invincible; hell, they're commies. Their system incentivizes corruption.
And capitalism doesn't? Communism at least encourages people to keep their stolen shit in the country and thus be beholden and loyal to the country to a comparatively greater extent.

Ethnic Russians are also having plummeting birthrates, which Putin has stymied by encouraging Central Asian immigration from the Stans.
Putin can fix this. He actually did circa 2012 but then noped right out, because he's a corrupt fuck. But it's an extremely solvable problem wrt Russia, just needs less theft. Ethnic Russians want to be parents.

We are crippling their economy and slowly wiping out their military how are you gonna spin this as a win for Russia at least in the short term?
House cleaning. Consoomer house cleaning is objectively good. The overall outcome depends on whether China comes through or not with critical infrastructural shit. But wrt the consoomer cancellations I've had a raging boner for a month now, and I'm a wamen. I want Coca-Cola out and Aqualife in every store so I have something better than my own piss to drink on the road. I want Bangladeshi slave-made clothes without retarded Western brands and their retarded million percent surcharges. I want Western social networks be actively hostile to Russians instead of training them to kiss troon cock. I want Ikea out and Belarusian furniture in. I want Western luxury brands to become a symbol of treason. I want Microsoft to fuck off forever, it's cancer. Most Western consumer brands bribed their way to market dominance. I want them gone (and, ideally, bribe recipients executed, but that's not gonna happen). And I want traitors to either flee and those of them which stayed to be blacklisted in the West and by their polycules for having stayed.

25% of Russians don't even have bank accounts lol.
Are you exceptional? Absolutely every Russian adult (except old believer hermits in Siberia) has a bank account, it's how they get salary and gibs. Tribal caribou herders have bank accounts.
(You probably also think every Russian has Apple Pay and is now dead from starvation because it doesn't work.)

(Soros arrest warrant, source: OsintUpdates twatter)
Fake and gay.
And there we fucking have it. They finally said the quiet part out loud. I fucking said Putin doesn't consider Ukraine to be a country. I fucking said they're going for the whole thing.

And now we have the fucking spokeswoman straight up saying this.
Oh god lay off the coke.
1. They've been saying "Ukraine lost its chance for independence" for years.
2. Russia can't hope to conquer all of Ukraine, not to mention occupy it, they (we) don't have nearly enough people even if we draft everyone, and we know this.
3. What she means is Ukraine is destined to be a puppet, of the West or of Russia. It can't be a willful independent country playing both ends, balancing its pro-Russia (anti-globohomo) and nationalist (anti-Russia, also anti-globohomo) factions. It will now be forever globohomo's dickriding sockpuppet, she says.

Bolchevism was far more destructive than Tsarism and Russia will probably never recover.
Bolshevism won two World Wars and got a man into space in a single generation. What did you do, apart from reverse mortgaging your father's house and letting your ex troon out your son?

Crimea is a major port, they haven't recognized it as independent unlike Donbass for a reason, they need Crimea more than anything.
(I've posted about this before) This whole spesh op is fought for Crimea. Putin was considering flushing Donbass as late as 2018.
1997: Yeltsin arranges for Russia to get the fuck out of the Sevastopol base in 2017 and whoever rules Russia at the time will get fucked.
2000, Putin ascends to power.
2003, Putin murders his Transnistrian rival Lebed AND makes peace with Chechens.
2004, Ukies oust Yanukovich and demand the Sevastopol base back now. Russia gives them cheap gas and whatnot.
2010, Yanukovich wins a fair election (against a wamen) and leases the base to Russia until 2047, there are riots and fights in the parliament.
2014, Ukies oust Yanukovich again and declare the lease unconstitutional. Russia grabs Crimea, Ukies shut off the water. Mariupol tries to secede and gets raped by the newly formed Azov. Donbass tries to secede and well you know.
From 2015 on until 2018, Donbass separatists and Poklonskaya the face of Crimea are reviled in the Russian media, painted like complete subhuman ape retards, worse than niggers. Putin clearly wants to get the fuck out of Donbass in exchange for water for Crimea, which is fast turning into unlivable salt flats.
2014-2018: Rotenberg builds the bridge to Crimea with taxpayer money. He owns it, as he owns all roads in Russia.
2018, the anti-Donbass propaganda stops. Supposedly this is when Putin starts to prepare for the spesh op.
2022, the spesh op starts and the first thing Russia does is destroy the dam.

The morning started with my pet food supplier sending me an email titled "Good news! The pice on the item you're buying the most has gone down!"
At least your food is still available. My mom blames Putin for killing her cat with countersanctions against imported animal food in 2021.

And now to watch the seethe.
Unfortunately Russia is probably the closest we have to an anti-globohomo state. Russia has the anti-grooming law, Ukraine has grooming in schools and fag marches. As for Nazi beliefs, being an actual Hitler fan is of course banned because Hitler was an enemy. Why wouldn't a nationalist state ban supporters of an enemy nation?

A US quarter is like 10 bajillion rubles right now, right?
24 roubles (was 19).

>What if one day you wake up and find out that Google is not working
It almost doesn't already. Image search is broken, and it looks like regular search will follow suit soon.
On this week's episode of I Wish a Nigga Would, Moscow politician and member of the Communist party is advocating for the invasion of a further 6 nations as part of the Special Military Operation™.
A Communist in the Moscow duma, kek. The guy's district is like two apartment buildings and his office is a broken school desk in a broom closet.
It's called UnionPay and Russians will be forced to get it once their current Visas and Masercards expire. The new cards actually double as Mir AND UnionPay.
I'm waiting for Sberbank to hash it out with the chinks.

Ah yes, the Tsar Dilemma. Hence, why the end of serfdom was so late and so halfassed. Russian leaders have always fucked the ordinary people for the sake of the elites to maintain the leader's power.
One thing I've noticed about Russian history is that very frequently, the people at the top don't understand the concept of keeping corruption to manageable levels, and it always comes back to fuck them.

2. I'm Russian so I have to note here I am legally prohibited from implying these numbers may be understated.
@Safir i think they didnt counted other fighters and they have no clear idea how many of those died. Kadyrow will not report real numbers to putin and the russian army cant be bothered to keep track of Islamists getting cut down by ukrainians.

Yep. Everyone gives themselves 'little' allowances thinking they're the only ones getting away with it. The problem is usually hundreds if not thousands of government officials all thinking "I'll just skim a little off the top, who's gonna notice?" until there's nothing left.

- "I am going to take Donbass".
- "LIAR YOU WANT THE WHOLE THING! REEEEEE!"
- "I have taken Donbass".
- "HAHA LOOK AT THIS LOSER BOOO HE COULDN'T EVEN TAKE THE ENTIRE THING! BOOOOO!"
