This is especially true for people who have done long-term 24/7 adult caregiving, usually of a parent. For some reason I can’t quote @Embaby Cumjar but yes, the murder case was in Bongland and IIRC the older child wasn’t diagnosed with SMA until the mother was already pregnant with the twins (or they may have even been born already - they were pretty close in age). Then they tested the twins and found they had it too. It was just desperately shitty bad luck - the twin pregnancy wasn’t a reckless roll of the dice. They had a healthy older kid too.

Have you seen an American public school system lately? You can make that argument for private schools maybe, but the sex Ed curriculum in public school is anything but Christian, especially when you’re trying to introduce preteens to the joys of anal sex and troonery.

If you grew up in a country where in the countries surrounding you women didn’t have as many opportunities to go to school because of theocracy, let alone know what a fucking tampon or condom was, a lot of the complaints about the US and Europe seem rather ‘first-world’ in comparison.

Well, they let us know what a condom was, but only to tell us that they basically don't work ever and that their disclaimer of effectiveness is a lie pushed by the condom industry.

Tampon was a forbidden subject when they taught us girls about menstruation though. One girl asked about them, and the teacher said that we were way too young for tampons and that they were only for women that were "considerably older than us" and refused to discuss the matter any further.

I have to give my school district credit, we openly celebrated frequently banned books. In middle and high school every year the librarian would talk about commonly challenged and banned books that parents tried to personally get banned from our school, and then encourage us to check out the books in question. Both the middle and high school I attended were full of underachievers and had a well-deserved bad reputation, so it was actually a pretty clever way to get certain students to actually attempt to read a book once a year.

I was so glad when her body finally completely gave out and her awful mother couldn't grift off of her anymore. At least after the funeral anyways, which was just a celebration of her life, and not Jahi. Jahi was legitimately a far better mother to her family than her, and what happened to her is absolutely just tragic.

There was a case a few years ago of an old pedo and his Asian wife going over to some 3rd world country and using a surrogate. One of the twins was a downie so they dumped him on the surrogate and took his normal sister back to Aus with them. A meltdown is basically your brain shitting itself due to being overloaded with too much sensory input. Only thing that can really stop them is getting somewhere quiet.

That said, I think a lot of Autism Warrior Mom types drag their kids to sensory-unfriendly places more than necessary only to play the martyr about how their kid is always having meltdowns (no shit your kid is having meltdowns when you're dragging them to the grocery store and other places notorious for being godawful if you're autistic every single goddamn day).
