I've been hearing rumors Russia has been pulling troops from Armenia and Georgia to support Ukraine. I'll have to try and find some numbers on that, because I've been specifically citing that as one of Putin's many bad options, though I didn't expect it to bite him in the ass this soon.
The South Ossetian Garrison guys have been spotted around Mariupol. That place has to be a hell of a meat grinder if they’re desperate enough to throw those in there.

They really love putting their war crimes on the internet, don't they? I guess they forgot what happened in the Balkans.
TBH I expect this to just be another thing that "didn't happen" in US/EU media, and anyone posting about it online catches a Russian misinformation ban.

I'm disappointed that the Russians aren't aiming for a full takeover anymore, because that's the only way those war crimes would get punished, outside of the Russians setting a missile aside for revenge.

It's not really going to, this frozen conflict isn't like the others, there's no ethnic Russians for Russia to give a fuck about, and the unrecognized state being argued over is an Armenian puppet. This is one of the cases where Russia is actually acting as peacekeepers, not propping up their puppet.

Ukrainian simps salivating over warcrimes is rapidly becoming the Slavic version of mutt's law.
<Shrug> don't start nothing, won't be nothing. They get what they deserve.

I also laugh at the very notion of warcrimes or rules-of-engagement generally as gay vanity-filled attempts to pretty up the ugly and terrible business of war.

Every invasion of a city is going to involve war crimes by this logic. No one takes a city without killing innocent people in terrible ways.
There's a difference between collateral damage and intentionally shelling hospitals. The U.S. went out of its way to not completely flatten Fallujah despite it being filled with insurgents and insurgents using civilians as human shields.

They sent like 70,000 troops to Syria, that's about 1/3 of this invasion force.
Bullshit.

Yeah I'm sure when the officer says not to fire they keep firing anyway on people and infrastructure they can't even see just out of pure spite.
You really have no idea how fire support works, do you? Soldiers see enemy, soldiers call artillery, artillery receives coordinates, artillery shells coordinates. They don't need explicit orders from their commander, given to him from HQ to shell some static position in order to shell something they aren't supposed to based what a different unit is requesting. There are radio recordings of Russian infantry asking artillery to shell civilian targets. And what makes you think the commander is disciplined or has decent communication with high command?

>Implying he nukes
That's what he called it, but it sounds as though he's just not going to attempt to save anything from A&N. I have no clue as to whether or not that's going to apply here though.
Wait A&H is getting nuked?
My understanding is that it's just not keeping any of the old threads from articles, since a fair number of them are formatted incorrectly anyway. XenForo cucked out on the farms so we have to change over since we're no longer getting updates from them. Basically, the farms getting the Russia treatment round 6 gorillian.

Ah I remember xenofora cucking, I just didn't remember seeing anything about A&H.

So just to be clear, The president of the United States just said today that they are after regime change in Russia, have been since at least 2004, and every step leading up to this war in Ukraine has been done with the intent to destroy the Russian goverment and replace it with a puppet goverment the US wants and not the people of Russia.

Fuck you to anyone who still somehow thought Ukraine and the West were the "good guys" in this situation. Joe Biden just confirmed all the "propaganda" and paranoia Putin and the Russians have had for years. Biden legitimately justified this war and made it on the face of it defensive in nature for the Russians. When they came out and said this was an existential threat and they had to do this otherwise Russia wouldn't exist in the future, they were correct.

Good guys punch totalitarian regimes.

Ah fair enough, I just personally don’t think he will do it. But it’s his site, so whatever he wants to do.

Meaning Putin would have to have been planning this shit for nearly 20 years...and he still got cockblocked outside Kiev.

I guess the question here is what exactly is even the end goal? Russia's international reputation has been completely demolished in a matter of weeks, thousands dead, and it's still not entirely clear what the fuck the point of all this was over in the first place.

Russia's secondary mission of genociding all journalists operating in Ukraine seems to be progressing nicely.
Imagine a world without journalists.

An interesting story from The Guardian.

For background, the Russians recently managed to defeat Ukrainian soldiers around the town of Slavutych and entered the town. It was pretty recent, I think it was between 24-48 hours ago but can't say for sure. Anyways, they arrested the mayor of the town, Yuri Fomichev. The residents started protesting and the Russians tried to disperse them by using stun grenades and firing into the air.

This didn't work, so... the Russians released the mayor, after making a quick deal. Basically, the Russians told him that as long as there were no Ukrainian soldiers they would agree to leave and stay out. They conducted a quick search of the town to look for UAF stragglers, rounded up the guns they could find (giving them over to the mayor, not confiscating them, apparently) and then left. People who owned hunting rifles were exempted and didn't have their guns taken, which is remarkably tolerant and demonstrates that even Russian soldiers in a war zone are more supportive of gun rights than the ATF.
