General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Woah. My first thought was that a guy maybe stuffed his shirt, but no those looks like normal size female hands.

Are those honkers real or implants? (Or stuffing?) If they're real, then I definitely respect the decision to have a matching giant titty vtuber avatar, even though it looks cursed.
She spergs about being shadowbanned on Twatter, but that aside, she's enjoyable to watch.

Seems I should catch the Gura/Mumei VOD when I need to top up on cursed content.

JP talents get drunk all the time and no one bats an eye. Lui and Lamy host drinking zatsus all the time, but Mori doing it makes her a drunk.
Lui once cried on a public stream over a bottle of wine and then clipped it to meme on herself. The lesson she learnt from that was to get two bottles for her next drinking zatsudan, one she wanted and one screw cap wine as a backup. She ended up drinking both.

Song cover in a little over 90 minutes by sussy secret agent:

Zeta's song cover. It has English subs.
I like her singing voice. Quite distinct from everyone her speaking voice has been compared to.

Watame and Lui are kiwis today.
They've played for an hour and spent less time (none) dressing up kiwis than Aruran and Rikka did.

Gura is reminding me more and more of Pippa, what with her niche '90s kid references, love for gimmick fake pets, and general cursedness. She ever referenced lizard people and build-a-bear.Never realized it before, but Gura is kind of a less high-strung/more bratty version of Pippa.
Didn't they both get their start on YouTube with kid-friendly videos, as well? The two of them would probably hit it off well, assuming the rabbit doesn't get anxiety.

Always cool to see EN VTubers jump cock first into political satire and commentary. Looking forward to seeing if this spreads. Hololive has been smarter about it but with Kiara joining up with Nyanners (something I imagine was calculated on her part considering Kekhime's SJWism) awhile back, one can hope. I would absolutely love to see a firestorm and will hold out hope the white girlism endemic in EN VTubers gives us some future laughs.

for people needing to pee, they sure taking their sweet time. cringe as always Nyanners.

An interesting video popped up in my feed, a 10k sub youtuber who makes guides for various gacha cell phone games like Princess Connect and Blue Archive (HL has shilled both) talked about his vtuber application process to both Hololive and Nijisanji and his experience interviewing with HL. He didn't make either but got to the second round for HL.

Random info: not surprisingly the guy speculated that having previous streaming/youtube experience , being willing to follow a a strict schedule (explain Sana??) and having other skills like singing, drawing is important.

Niji never contacted him. HL contacted him after a few days of submitting his application and set up an Zoom interview that was very "corporate." The interview was similar to any office job, his answers were also super formal and business-like.

He speculated he was rejected cus his channel is too small, his isn't a good singer, and HL is looking for aspiring idols who will do anything to reach that goal including dropping everything , quitting their 9-5 job to be a vtuber. He was too focused on the digital marketing and social media aspect instead of the creative idol stuff in the interview and didn't show his creative side.

Nothing in the video was all that surprising but it was interesting to hear a first-hand account.

Shitpost: guy got rejected cus he can't pronounce Gura's name correctly, filthy casual who wouldn't commit to dropping his 9-5 to be a corpo vtuber.

Many years ago on one of those goddawful reality tv pop star casting shows, a chap rocked up and performed a beautiful rendition of a Nirvana song, only to be told the truth by Simon "Not Gay" Cowell: "you are at entirely the wrong audition..." I think a lot of these vtuber applicants who get vocal about it afterwards - especially the more talented ones - wouldn't understand what he was trying to convey. Similarly, there was a guy on that show who turned out as a near-perfect mimick of a Backstreet Boy and got shot down with "we're not looking for someone with a preconceived idea of what a pop star is..." For what it's worth, the Cobain wannabe took it in his stride, and the Backstreet Boy wannabe pouted and got hissy.

Good on this chap for giving it a go, yet the truth is more that he doesn't "fit" which isn't really something you can do a lot about. Hololive recruitment is more akin to casting Character Actors than Leads. He sounds like a nice enough guy, and does have some performing charm, yet that's not going to count for much in an ensemble where he doesn't gel with everyone else. Hololive is casting a troupe, not individuals.

I wanted to push late November - early December 2021 so I got a bit desperate, couldn't find a modeler/rigger and I ended up going to Fiver (huge mistake). Got a broken mess of a model made which looked derpy as fuck so I basically threw away $700. The whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth and I decided to just wait at least until summer. I should have more time on my hands to work on a model myself or find a decent deal. It also gives me time to get a few more clips on the channel and pump the subscriber numbers a bit.
Oh damn, sorry to hear that homie about the fiver cursed model. That's a smart move though of doing clipping in meantime to steadily increase channel presence in meantime.
You'll make it one day gaymer, no matter how scuffed things get! :semperfidelis:

Hololive third dip into ID market and secures hyper qualified talents, while Niji pump and dump, leaving the game entirely and merge it into a pool 200 streamers. Something something in shambles.

Tribalfagging aside, I'm still wondering as well why would they merge NijiID with the main branch. I get it with KR, with how their management actually is in shambles. But why ID? Domestically they already have some following, perhaps even as strong or even larger with HoloID in some regards

I fucking hate Valorant but streaming Kobo screaming while playing it in the background is weirdly entertaining. It's like listening to a barely unintelligible baby/pre-teen playing. Doesn't help that Indonesian language in her voice sounds like high-pitched baby squealing.

EDIT:
Also interesting note on Kaela and Kobo streaming at the same time:

and supposedly cheaper operation cost.
