Of course there are, which shows how inept they are that they can't even meet that low bar. The late 00s, early 10s was a boom period for games. You had Wii mania, XBLA and Steam were bringing indie games to the masses. I think at the time games were making more money than movies and music combined.
I think it was Dave Gallant that said he became an indie dev not because of a love of games, but because he wanted to be cool like the people in his local indie dev community. He wanted that prestige, that image, without doing any of the work required. This arguably applies to Phil Fish and Zoe Quinn.

I'd rather they didn't, at least for now. I find that whether people support 'video games as art' is a good gauge to see how far someone is up their own ass, not to say that games can't be art because there are certainly games that are and there is a double standard in play because films get seen as art while the majority of what gets made is schlock there to appeal to the masses just like vidya.

I think this video well represents a constant issue with his format, that the stuff he covers in videos is almost never relevent when the video comes out. GT7 has been out for just over three weeks and these issues have been there since the launch so it feels like he's just going for low hanging fruit he knows he can use to push out a video using the same tired old script but with the name of the game and dev swapped out.

The bleed has slowed down a bit, but it will get there eventually. As much as I want another seething video, it's unlikely that Jim is going to do another one as his 900K subscriber did the opposite of the intended effect. Jim was probably hoping that the video would cause outrage and push him over the 1 million milestone so he could gloat over the transphobes. Instead it painted a giant target on him, and he now has trolls like us waiting in the shadows for him to do it again. I don't expect anything more than a passing commit when he hits the 800K mark, but this is a instance where I hope I'm wrong.
Jim's views this month have been pretty good as far as Modern Jim goes, and the reason for that is extremely simple: Almost all his videos have been about Elden Ring, currently the video game darling of seemingly everyone in the world.
I think you're right, he'll almost certainly only mention it in passing in the first sub-800k JQ. His pride won't let the slight go completely unacknowledged, and I'm sure he'll be bitching about it endlessly on Twitter, but when you lose over 10% of your subscriber base it's hard to spin that as anything other than you being the problem.
