Will Smith accosted Chris Rock at Oscars 2022 Sunday night for joking about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head.​

I don't think so. Chris rock is the funny guy. He may be succesful, but he has class clown written all over him. And that's how he dealt with it, disarming things. And it was also really funny at some level, which is why he was laughing. Will Smith couldn't let it go like that, his slap just being laughed off, so he had to shout after it, and chris rock complied with his class clown status saying "I won't!", referring to taking her name into his mouth.

If he regarded it as a heckler, something he experienced a million times, he would have made more jokes about Smith or Jada. But he's not a fighter; you could see his body tense, adrenaline kicking in, but it was still a defensive stance. I'm sure he could throw a punch to defend himself, but his response is not one of a fighter.

That's along the lines of what I thought too (as evidenced earlier in the thread), but the way Will acted like an absolute headcase on the verge of suicide for the rest of the evening gave me second thoughts. Still not sure, but leaning toward it being legit just based on that alone.
