The craziest thing about this entire war is that they are giving them the best equipment. Red dots, decent camo and armor. Hell, armored support. I still can't wrap my head around it, other than they are the most battle tested troops they can find...and they hate them....so why not throw them into it with the best shit? It really starts to make sense when you look at it through that lens. Yeah we fucked you up, but now you are a great proxy army! Here is some nice shit! Go get 'em!

Maybe actually not "retard update" since Russian invasion on Ukraine actually turned into huge losing position for Putin.

If they insist on paying in rubles it is break in contracts and means they will lost arbitrage in future and need to pay contractual penalties.

And if they stop pumping gas, it means that biggest component of Russian budget (approx. 36% of revenue) is now gone, in already struggling Russian economy.

Who is going to make them pay those breach of contract payments? The Europeans who unilaterally froze their bank accounts?

They can shift some of the gas production to Asia, at a higher price since the euros will be scrambling for every bit of non Russian gas they can get their hands on spiking to global spot price. How much they can shift and how much the price moves nobody really knows. Agree the Russian budget will take a hit but how much its difficult to say.

1. It is rumored that China secured their contract at 2/3 to 1/3 of price of european gas contracts due to this war.
2. There is no infrastructure to pipe all he gas to India and China that would normaly flow to EU. Infrastructure like that will take years to build.
3. Freezing accounts means they will give it back if war ends. If they lose arbitrage, they can just take it over as a payment for contractual penalties.

I saw speculations that they actually have price listings on kills/captures depending on rank and/or being part of nazi battalions but those never went past an easily faked scanned document pictures. Saw shit like that from Ukrainian side too.
Other than that, Chechens specifically are trained in a very patriotic coupled with religious upbringing and with how fucking dotational Chechnya is their salaries make them pretty motivated, I'd think.
