Careercow Brandon "Bam" Margera - From Jackass to Lolcow

Yeah, just by looking at him you could tell he wouldn't survive doing another Jackass movie. Knoxville and Spike Jonez did him a favor by excluding him from the movie. I'm sure they probably would've given him a writer's credit if he wrote pranks/stunts that weren't gay as fuck.

Watched Jackass Forever last night, pretty entertaining although yes it's not the insanity that the guys did in their youth although it's still absurd and funny. Major props to Wee Man and Preston Lacy whose stunts take up a lot of the screen time. And the new additions all did fine, it was nice to have a decent looking girl in the posse who is just as much of a masochist as the rest to break up some of the sausage party. If Johnny and the gang do Jackass The Next Generation I approve. I'd love Bam to come back or seethe harder as the rest of the cast gets checks. Whatever works.

But anyway a nice touch was how they goof on Johnny and his bald spot, at one point Tremaine sprays his head with hair spray. Johnny then just goes grey and looks fine. Bam should just accept he's old, you've already resigned to that fact when you've covered your body with tats.
Jackass Forever was fucking awful. There was one good bit - the Welcome to Hell one - which in any other movie would be filler. Even the "oh shit Knoxville almost died" one was a basic bull stunt that they'd safely done a hundred times.
The whole thing was if Bam himself was a movie. If Danger Ehren is the star you're finished. Bam would have fit in perfectly, they just brought out more fat guys and someone's shitty black dad.

Sorta disagree. Even without Bam, I still had a whole lot of fun with Forever, even if it is the weakest in the series.

I'm just stopping in to say I'm shocked that Bam is still alive. I pity his parents but they are partially at fault too.
Is his kid okay? I've seen posts here about the stripper/druggie baby mama and questions about if the kid had FAS.

His parents have paid large sums of money to keep him alive. I can't fault them for doing it either as no one wants to bury their own son. He is never going to thank them, he is going to keep spiralling till the money runs out or he ODs/fucks his liver and modern medical care can do nothing for him. Perhaps i could be wrong, he could finally get help and bounce back and be doing fucking TED talks about his lowest points in 5 years. But after seeing the mountains and mountains of even rich addicts who are found naked in a pile of their own shit and vomit. It is hard road for Bam.

The thing is, I've been comparing this Bam thing to the Steve-O thing. I don't think anyone can deny that Steve-O was a complete degenerate when he was video taping himself 24/7 huffing whippets down and kicking holes into his neighbors apartment, I remember watching that stuff on youtube when it was happening and I don't remember ever thinking "whoah, I hope this guy dies"
I can't put my finger on it; I don't know why I have that gut reaction to Bam. There's just something about him, the spoiled rich bratty kid who made mega millions, who treats everyone around him like shit, hmm I dunno. Steve-O always struck me as a retard with a heart of gold, who always meant well even if he was annoying. Bam is the opposite, he's a smug arrogant douchebag, and I can't think of a single redeeming quality about him.

But I guess you're right. Bam's mom is cool and it would suck if she had to deal with Bam's suicide.
Sorry I know this is very late, but the thing with Steve-o was he recorded himself for years and I remember watching all his strange videos back then. This was early-mid 2000s. While he definitely deteriorated, it became clear that his major source of pain was his moms death from cancer. That fucked him up badly and he talked about it quite a lot. He was close with his dad and sister, he was a massive deadhead which is surprising but that’s the sort of wavelength he was from. These videos were almost like a confessional. I quit watching these guys after Wildboyz, Pontius and Knoxville were my faves.
Random Bam memories- I remember one VLB episode they were camping on an island across from three mile island and he blasted someone in the face with a fire extinguisher and the guy had chemical burns in his eyes and Bam’s just laughing. Somebody had to row the guy off in a canoe to get to an ER. What an asshole.
I do remember Jackass took over mtv for 24 hours, Bam was there briefly and very wasted, April was clearly distraught with him, and here we are a decade or more later even worse.
Speaking of Bam’s editing skills, lol, that movie he made with his friends a long time ago, he tacked on this completely weird ending with emo goth music and him in guyliner in a club, like he’d made a music video and edited it onto the end, like nobody will notice.
Honestly if I had a FAS baby with a hooker I’d probably drink myself to death too.

Makes me wonder what was cut. Bam shows up in 1 stunt but he isn't named or even acknowledged. Makes me wonder if there's more sketches with Bam as a main focus that were cut, like maybe the ending sketch, because my biggest complaint with the movie is the last bit was underwhelming and the movie just kinda ends without feeling like it should.

Beginning was underwhelming too, the whole thing made clear these guys are old and can't really do stunts anymore. The thing where they slide down a hill is what children do. Steve-O had no purpose in the entire runtime and he was supposed to be the craziest one. He got a skateboard dropped on his shins and that's about it. Like I said, Bam would not be out of place at all in this thing. In light of the pranks which are so low effort they actually feel staged, Bam starting wheezing fistfights with everyone on set would have saved it.

I agree. I also made the mistake of watching the first three movies just before seeing Forever, which only highlighted the stark contrast of Forever versus the rest. A bunch of guys who pushed themselves to the limit plus a decade of age, I did not expect much but was underwhelmed anyway. Jackass Forever would have been a much better movie if they just filmed Bam getting drunk and high off his ass on random benders.

Steve-O did the skateboard guillotine, bees on dick, and the high five bike.

Just watched forever to see what the deal was. FWIW I thought it was decent when viewed with the idea it's a more chilled out send off. The bear was a good prank on Ehren. However, Bam wasn't really missed. if he was in it more, cool, but he had a brief cameo and it didn't feel better or worse. End of the day its just guys getting hit in the dick - almost anyone can do it. To that point, most of the new guys were alright but it's not the same.

That all said, shame bam wasn't there for the send off/torch passing. Missing the finale of your career because you're a drugged up, drunken mess is just sad.

C'mon, that "Silence of the Lambs" basement shit was fucking gold. If you weren't laughing at that there's something broken in your brain's funny node.
That's why I said the "Welcome to Hell" bit was good, the one you just described. But I also said in any other movie that would be filler, like them in roller blades in the truck. It seems standout to you cause everything else was trash, like the human ramp.

Human ramp was pretty weak, I must agree, but there were some other standout moments as well.

Still, I don't think I've ever seen as much dick and balls in a movie that wasn't porn.

Human Ramp and the slip and slide were the worst for me. Neither of those bits felt like a Jackass worthy stunt.

I get it: these guys are in their 40s where even people who are great health start to encounter shit they never faced before like tweaking their back. You got guys like Steve-O who did the crazy stunts he did during the heyday of Jackass because he was always drunk and high and in 2022 is sober. But Jackass Forever reportedly made $80 million off a $10 million budget so even if the movie did suck ass, it made money. Here’s hoping they don’t make a Jackass Forever 2 but given the profitability and utter lack of creativity, I’m sure this is not the end of Jackass, even if it just focuses on the new group of people.

If Welcome to Hell had been done back in the day with Bam and Dunn it probably would've been better (Dunn trying to kick the window out of the bee limo comes to mind). It was fine the way it was but it was still missing something to truly push it over the edge

Also the only one who whines and cries harder then Danger Eheren is Bam when he's the victim of a stunt rather then the one inflicting the pain. It would have been good to have him in besides that one cameo in the marching band treadmill. (A segment that belonged on Jackass TV, not a movie)

What was the welcome to hell one, the silence of the lambs skit?
