General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

That was a fun watchalong. The movie was a shit movie but god was it enjoyable. Also had fun talking to y'all in the chat with those who watched along!
I liked it even more than I remembered liking it. Stupid fun.

For those that didn't follow the plot, as I guess the girls didn't… The hippie cult wanted to get the Krotchy dolls to sell them to settle their tax debts, and the Taliban wanted to get them because they were using them to smuggle vials of avian flu virus (hidden in the dolls) into the country.

Postal is a fun movie.

I'd watch it again. It was honestly well produced, acted, and competent all around. Even the directors cut was well paced and it didn't feel like 2 hours.

Yeah i'd watch again too in the future. I will say that at the very least, they looked like they had a fun time filming the movie. which is rare to come by these day with movie production.

Also last movie I saw in a long while that had stupid humor in it and didn't take itself seriously.

Is the audio levels for the watchalong bad for you guys too? like I barely hear tenma and overall audio seems low...except when pippa scream into the mic.
Enhancer for Youtube does have a volume boost toggle, works well enough. I use it sometimes so I don't have to increase my headphone volume https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/enhancer-for-youtube/ponfpcnoihfmfllpaingbgckeeldkhle

The movie itself was too high on the YAB scale for me personally, won't watch again, glad the girls had fun.

@Godzilla1984 managed to get an archive of the watchalong? Missed the first hour =(

The 'wah this is where Pyramid Head is from' upon entering the otherworld and 'this looks just like the movie' kill me a little inside but conversely makes me like the zoomer ghost more.
To be fair Konami has not gave a shit about the first silent hill since forever and the only content you get from them is a dlc for DBD and a pachinko
Shuba is uncanny in how similar she looks. If you placed several holodoxes side by side and asked someone who has never seen them before to point out the duck, most would go for her.

Now I understand why Noel is so interested in getting on her pants

This cant be a wild coincidence right?
It's them putting together actual lore for their characters as it really didn't exist outside of jokes for a long time, not really a rebrand as a company.
This still seems odd though. What does vshojo need investors/VC for? Usually you take it because you need an infusion of cash to do something that you can't afford on your own. And the payback to them is they get a cut of your earnings and/or company. The vshojos should already have a ton of money, especially nyanners and ironmouse, and I can't really think of anything they'd need capital for. They already have 2D and 3D models and the setups to use them, so there isn't a whole lot more they need as vtubers that I can think of, especially big enough to require external investors. So I wonder what they are going to do that they thought they needed that much money coming in and were willing to give up future earnings and some control for?
Pure rrat levels, but they've got a couple projects like the formerly mentioned gunrun streaming backpack that some of that money might be going towards, but more likely I think it's to finally start launching new talent that isn't made in house (Froot made the art for both her own and Hime/Sydsnap's model). That plus the ability to expand staff wise with all the expenses that come with it and I can see it all coming together into an actual functional company.

Thinking about her being at conventions, do they usually do acts like this? If she wasn't a known vtuber, would they just have a random wigger rapper at a weeb convention like this?

Anything Japan-adjacent is a go at anime conventions. If she wasn't a vtuber, she'd still be an animator-slash-wigger rapper who lives in Japan that has released multiple albums and have collabed & done tours with JP musicians such as Fake Type and could provide unique first-person insights on a niche, underground music scene in Japan.

Seems like Song Mia and probably Chiho Han of Niji KR will be graduating.

More or less goes with what I thought - the merger would be a point when the livers have to decide as to whether they want to continue on as effectively a part of JP, or leave. Song Mia doesn't speak as much Japanese as most so I'm not too surprised to see her leave, though it's still sad. I am a bit more surprised to see Chiho go, but again, he wasn't quite as good in Japanese as some of the others (I remember him telling Petra that he'd rather speak English with her). I feel like Chiho had the potential to do well because he did gain a lot of subs last year after a viral clip and does speak English decently well, but he never seemed interested in collabing with EN or really getting more EN fans, which is ultimately his own choice.

I think that makes 13/27 graduated livers for KR. Probably 14 soon enough because I doubt Ara will last (I'm honestly surprised she hasn't been terminated, a fact that points to the state of KR management). IN was more of a "complete" failure, in that they no longer exist, but I think KR really takes the cake as the worst managed branch in Niji history. I won't be sad if all their management is shifted out as a part of the merger.

Warabeda Meiji from JP also seems to be graduating (apparently she announced it in a member stream, though I can't confirm), which is unrelated but not that surprising as Meiji is one of those members who isn't consistently active.

Yeah, the older I get the more I have to remind myself these youngsters won't have any of the context I do for anything.
How much she seemed to enjoy the game despite how scuffed it is to play these days was nice to see though. I hope she gets into it and plays 2 after.

I just saw this pop onto my feed, and haven't seen anyone mention it yet. Fubuki interviewing Jared Leto?

Hope it's as bizarre as the interview Laplus had - and that she starts the interview yelling "HEY PAUL".
