I hate how often they say “due to…” when they’re describing their circumstances. It’s an annoying cop-out that we aren’t supposed to question. “I need money due to verbal abuse.” “Due to my racist landlord, I am being evicted.”

Oversimplifying the reason you need thousands of dollars makes no sense, especially because providing actual examples of abusive and racism would garner a lot more sympathy. We can clearly see there are things you’re leaving out.

I'd bet that plenty of us could live comfortably on $6k/month and have enough left over to save for the future and emergency expenses.

The problem with a lot of these grifters is their lack of long-term vision and their dismissive attitude that "adulting is hard."

Look at all the posts where grifters claim they need $X daily that get repeated near-daily on their social media. None of them stop to think or do the math associated with their demands. In short, they're oblivious to the fact that expecting $200 a day from outsiders exceeds $70,000 per year because they're only living one day at a time and not looking at the short or long-term future and setting realistic goals to get themselves as financial secure as they claim they want to be. This doesn't take into account those grifters who already live comfortably and simply expect others to bankroll their lifestyles because they don't want to do it themselves.

In addition, we have those who e-beg for over priced food deliveries, the most expensive smartphones, and funds for all their monthly streaming services. As said before, there's nothing wrong with people on tight budgets enjoying an occasional nice item or treat. Those serious about managing their finances, though, know they have to make a sacrifice or look for bargains to afford that nice item.
