Idk why you'd throw it out, the New Testament gave us the roadmap to the current shit that is going on, with the church more or less paralyzed and impotent to effect change at best and actively contributing to the problem at worst. I will agree that it is a hard section of the Bible to deal with - Turning the other cheek and waiting to let God smite the heathens at judgment is something that tries my patience every day.
God is tired of our shit. There won't be any more smiting etc most likely until the End, which tbh as I've said repeatedly, I feel we are witnessing unfold. In these last days the only mercy shown to mankind at large is that the days are quickened so that the suffering does not feel so prolonged.
Well, in the interest of staying somewhat relevant to the thread, there's another mercy I get to enjoy - Those who harm children and lead them astray (like by trooning them out or raping them) are among the only people singled out in the Bible for harsher punishment.
I wouldn't want to be the child sniffing potato in Chief or his crackhead protege when God starts sifting through the pedos and child groomers.
Oh fuck off with the end of days bullshit, Bible Thumper.

Guess what, good days and bad days happen. These people are evil, but imagining some big bearded man in the sky will punish them after they die?

We tried having the religious right in charge, and those people fucked up enough in the late 90's to the late 00's to allow this shit to happen.

If you think we would be better because a Christfag was in charge you're a moron.

You sound angry, friend. I would be angry too if I was destined for hellfire. I shall pray for your soul.

I thought the blue states would reinforce their state apparatus to keep them perennially blue walls despite their uppity constituents, but this is good news in New York. Instead of 3 GOP seats they would be more like 7 or 8, which puts it in opposite line with a place like FL.
Not a win quite yet, appealate courts (which aren't so friendly to Republicans) might decide there isn't enough time to redraw the maps and that the GOP will just have to suck it up for 2022. Dems seem to still be confident they'll get to keep their gerrymandered map.

You know, I never understood the argument as to why ID is not required to vote. You need an ID to do just about anything (drive, buy alcohol, get a job, visit government buildings, etc.), and you can go to the DMV to get an ID even if you're homeless. The ID is typically $50 or less (depending on where you live), but I'm relatively sure that there are non-governmental agencies that will help subsidize the cost of getting an ID. Additionally, the DMV in certain states can give IDs for free if the person meets certain criteria (eg: financial distress, disability).

Verifying people that do mail-in voting would be more complicated, but the most likely (although exceptionally bureaucratic and tedious) solution would probably be requiring the person to show up with a valid ID to a government office. It would cut down on the amount of dead voters.
Any restriction or additional security on voting would limit the Democrat's ability to cheat.

The Democrats cannot hold their political power without cheating.

Even those who don't agree with their party cheating are roped into compliance via the lie of it being racist to hold black people to human standards of behavior.

The unspoken theory is that if they can hold their political power for long enough demographic change will make it so they don't have to cheat any longer.

It's not rocket surgery. They cheat and will do anything to prevent people from stopping them, under the woke shield of "racism." They've been doing it ever since JFK or earlier.

It's like the argument that wearing a cheap wig and saying "skirt go spinny!" makes you a woman, yet gender stereotyping is still bad somehow. It's not supposed to make sense. It's supposed to keep you rhetorically attacking shadows and too distracted to do anything about the real agenda (stealing votes/raping kids/etc).

Years ago, Republicans investigated election fraud in I think Philly or Baltimore. They had to stop because they were catching such a comical number of blacks that our national reflex to attribute racially disparate outcomes to racism kicked in. The unspoken secret in this country is that blacks really just don't vote that much. Black areas are just extremely corrupt and engage in insane levels of ballot box stuffing, busing, and the like. Nearly a third of black males are ineligible to vote due to felony convictions, and blacks are somehow too lazy to get IDs, yet so motivated to vote that elections are literally the only thing in all of American society where blacks show up on time at the same rate as whites?

Give me a fucking break.

The religious right and the wokist left are two sides of the same coin. Do you honestly believe that the same people in power now wouldn't just switch masks and change the interior paint to be more in line with the dogma of the church if it gave them power?

You don't have to look far to see that even the Pope is pozzed to hell and back anyway.

Knowing you are destined for hellfire is freedom.
I know my fate, what's that say about you who will be forced to stroke a god's ego for eternity, or until he gets bored and casts you into the pit anyway?

The colonial empires of old are entirely a different thing than the super powers we have today. As big as they were, they neither had the political and cultural influence of today nor the ability to the end the world with the push of a few buttons.
There's a reason half the world speaks English as a second language, and it isn't because of the United States.

As to the "end the world" aspect... the only thing the Brits were missing were nukes. If they had those the Empire never would have fallen, merely limped along like Russia has.

Besides the "having ID requirements makes it harder for us to cheat!" issue. there is the fact that getting an ID is absurdly difficult thing to do given the requirements, the paperwork needed, the fees, and finding a DMV that is nearby to go to even if you are a legal, native born citizen.

I found out the hard way when my own ID lapsed and it took forever and a day to get a new one.

On Thursday, the Biden administration endorsed gender reassignment surgery and hormone treatments for children in a series of department documents.

The Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Population Affairs released a two-page document titled, “Gender-Affirming Care and Young People,” which argued that “gender-affirming care improves the mental health and overall well-being of gender diverse children and adolescents.”

Forms of “affirming care” listed in the document included “puberty blockers,” “hormone therapy,” and “gender-affirming surgeries,” such as “top surgery,” “bottom surgery,” and “facial feminization or other procedures.”

The Department of Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) also released a document, titled, “Gender-Affirming Care Is Trauma-Informed Care,” which claimed that “[t]here is no scientifically sound research showing negative impacts from providing gender-affirming care.”

Critics immediately slammed the Biden administration for what they deemed a dangerous and radical endorsement of potentially-irreversible treatments for children.

  • “If you are tempted to believe my article here is exaggerating, lying, or in any way misconstruing the HHS’s trans children policies, I ask you click and read,” Fox News’ Timothy Nerozzi, who reported on the endorsement, wrote.
  • “The only people who knows for a fact whether these interventions are ‘reversible’ are detransitioners. If you’re a parent or someone considering these interventions, do NOT listen to the White House’s misleading propaganda. Talk to detransitioners,” Abigail Shrier said.
  • “The Biden administration is all but done: We have a President ignorant and vile enough to try to subvert parental rights,” Lou Dobbs responded.
  • “Does the Biden administration really think they know better than parents?” Rep. Jody Hice asked.
  • “This kind of ‘medical treatment’ renders children sterile,” Bethany Mandel tweeted.
  • “The White House coming out in favor of mutilating children is the least surprising news item I’ve seen this presidency,” Scott Morefield tweeted.
  • “This is child abuse,” Rep. Jeff Duncan replied.
Despite the Biden administration’s claims that “[t]here is no scientifically sound research showing negative impacts from providing gender-affirming care,” as reported by The Heritage Foundation, “The largest dataset on sex-reassignment procedures — both hormonal and surgical — reveals that such procedures do not bring the promised mental health benefits.”

Indeed, in the correction to the study discussed by The Heritage Foundation, patients who had reassignment surgeries had worse outcomes regarding anxiety disorders than those who did not:

…individuals diagnosed with gender incongruence who had received gender-affirming surgery were more likely to be treated for anxiety disorders compared with individuals diagnosed with gender incongruence who had not received gender-affirming surgery.

Many people have said similar things throughout human history, and yet we keep stumbling forward.

I have absolutely no idea why, either!
I probably should have specified that I meant "resistance to ID requirement to vote" by the public.

Politicians (especially democrats) resisting the requirements makes sense. I think the refrain from a fringe group in regards to preventing ID requirements was that it "was racist" to do so, since black people tend to be poorer and would most likely not be able to vote due to not being able to afford an ID. Again, some states can give IDs for free or for a heavily discounted price.

Then again, California (iirc) gives out driver's licenses to illegals, so we probably should make it is that illegals' IDs are different visually to prevent them from being able to vote.
