And yet, Pat jumps down the throat of people politely giving their opinion. Even people that give compromises that would fulfill the needs of both sides - like Georgia giving everyone a specific voting ID card. He calls them stupid because he is devoid of empathy. Anyone who isn't 100% on board with whatever Pat's fat opinion happens to be at the moment is stupid and ignoring facts. He is incapable of imagining people who disagree with him as humans with their own nuanced set of values and persuasions.

This whole proving your identity to vote thing being racist never made much sense to me

And the non-racist solution is to open the voting booth door wide open but not address that these people need some fucking ID to participate anywhere but on the fringes of society

What the hell is up with that list, Animal Farm no 85, how the fuck is that a difficult book. A clockwork orange no. 26, only really takes a few pages to get the rhythm of the language and it's really short, Trainspotting no 84 is literally just written in a Scottish accent, Dracula is no 68, again, been a few years since I read it but how is that difficult? Most of it seems like people read the first few pages and just gave up, Crime and Punishment is no 7, I read the Constance Garnett translation of that and there was quite a few reviews saying it was more difficult than the more modern translations and it was still fine, apart from the obvious ones like Ulysses I wonder if this is mostly just people that grew up on the likes of Harry Potter getting a shock when they finally try to read a different book.
