General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Kiara's Membership stream was supposed to be a gaming/menu making stream. It's turned into a talking/menu making stream:

- Kiara is getting really antsy about 3D. Looking like Japan debut isn't happening in the near future. After July is a growing possibility.
- Her motion capture suit has to be sent to Japan before it gets sent to Austria. There's a good possibility that it will be a repeat of her PS5 situation.
- If the suit doesn't arrive in time, Ame is willing to give Kiara her old suit provided that her new suit arrives. If not she's shit out of luck and might have to rent a studio for her birthday
- Toying with the idea of flying instead to North America and doing it at Ame's house.
- When the suggestion of doing a debut with all the girls in North America instead came up, Kiara said Cover will not allow a debut outside Japan.
- Company will not subsidize for travel or the rental of a studio outside of Japan.
- Kiara never said it out loud but she clearly inferred incompetence at the levels beyond the girls personal management.
- Considering doing a limited 3D performance some time before her Birthday because she hates the idea of having to shelve the 3D after a paywalled performance for several months. Has been reading the comments of those who couldn't afford tickets and feels guilty about it.

I saw that she was playing Yakuza 0 on PS5 so she did eventually get it, but what happened? Was it seriously delayed?

TMT singing Palette as she hits 1M. I'm in tears. My Vtuber senses must have been tingling otherwise I would not have gotten up just in time for this moment

EDIT: I'm definitely not ugly crying kay. I promised myself no more tears for Vtubers. Oh who the fuck am I kidding. Something about Towa's story will always get to me and her hitting 1M is just like the cherry ontop as a big fuck you to those antis who kicked up a fuss about her early career mistake.

How can cover have a entire branch of talent mostly in the united states , disallow a 3d debut outside of japan?
its a 11 hour flight from LAX to Tokyo , and with covid good fucking luck getting in , yet they were fine with what ever they used to film their performances? God cover really is incompetent.

They clearly haven't thought any of this through. It feels like they are stringing EN and ID along, but at at least ID is getting an office and a potential place to do their 3D shit there. EN is totally fucked in comparison. For a company that wants to have their cake and eat it too, they sure aren't pushing hard for travelling Visas for their talents.

Iirc one of em (affiliates, maybe partners) requires you to only live stream on twitch. It's retarded and no streamer should ever sign that contract. You have to multi stream, twitch's discovery algorithm for small streams is shit/non-existent.
I'm only an affiliate so I can only speak in that regard, you can only stream on one platform at a time (so no multi stream) and you have a mandatory 24 hour vod exclusivity, so you can't upload to youtube etc for a full day after the stream. So for people like Hololive/Nijisanji etc etc even as affiliates they'll do just fine and have basically 2x source of income. Corp vtubers cannot go for partnership on Twitch though, that I know very well. So it's more suited for them to do their IRL stuff on it than it being a double-dip source that cover seems to want it to be.

The biggest issue with holoen is the fact they arent all in the continental US, 2 (soon to be 1) are in japan, 2 afaik are in australia, 1 is in Europe and the rest are either in the US or are land connected to the US. Cover refusing to treat holoen like a actual branch and not just talents visiting the US will probably fuck up future gens alot more , what about holo en 3 or 4? Holostars en? Cover needs to treat them like a actual branch soon before the issues become very pressing.

This is just a theory but since cover has had so many issues with youtube streaming , maybe they are planning to test the waters with twitch for when/if youtube fucks up again?

Yeah, sometimes I really don't understand COVER's way of things, but maybe that just the "Japanese mindset" business kicking into play here. They have literally have some of the pioneers of the EN vtuber industry and they act like "Well your not it japan so, you know that's on your to sort it out but don't be breaking any rules now"

I can really see why in countless free talks and what not you seen the Myth members say time and time again that they are literally on their own to organise and do anything. It a bit saddening but I suppose it what makes them as strong as they are today because they had to go above and beyond compared to the JP branch now to get anything done.

I think its less a Japanese thing and more a company thing , its cheaper to just have online support for the talents and then if needed fly them out to japan , of course covid has thrown a massive wrench in this plan and cover refuses to adapt under the though process that japan will lift their restrictions "soon".

Cover will adapt eventually , cause if they dont it will be the death of holoen and any non japanese holo members

Already knew about this, it's why I don't think Ina will ever want to go back to Twitch willingly.
Ina didn't stream much before holo. Ame did. Her claim to fame was Twitch streaming (as was Gura's) but neither really want to go back to Twitch for any reason. Calli only had a few Dice streams on YT before holo so has less of a connection with the Twitch space.

As far as not having a studio space...considering the sheer logistical nightmare that is getting EN together, not renting out space for an office that will go unused makes sense. HoloID will have an office soon, and of course there's Cover's main office somewhere in the Tokyo metro area, but those countries are small. Regardless of where you are in Indonesia, you can easily just get to the office for a day or whatever and go home; same with Japan. At most, you gotta hop on a shinkansen to get there but you'll be back home before you know it.

In the case of an office for EN...they're all over the place. As said above, it'd be a fucking logistical nightmare. Where would they even put the office, anyway? It'd take a long ass time to get anyone there unless the office was rented out by one of the members themselves and is their personal workplace...even then it would be too much and the only one I could see doing anything close to renting out a commercial space with enough room for the hardware needed is Ame, but who would be willing to fly out there for a prolonged period? For something like LWY it would make sense to have the girls perform in that kind of space instead of flying them out to Japan when convenient.

HoloEN should do their own debuts or whatever the fuck they want without needing to be cucked by Cover because of shitty restrictions. They worked hard to get to this point and still get screwed by delays, fuck off Cover. What are you going to do, fire them? I think they've demonstrated by this point that even talents that get canned for serious contract violations that they are at fault for, can still rebound. With how many seem to be establishing some kind of fall-back plan for their real life selves, if anyone gets boxed for enjoying the fruits of their labour outside of company approval, they can just rely on their fans to jump off and follow them over some shit like being tossed out because they dared to use their assets.

Fucking Cover. reeeeeeee
