I think you’re right. Once you set a boundary they go crazy. They often confuse kindness for weakness and while that sometimes applies it’s also an error they frequently make. I’m confused why she was going to get evicted. In NJ of all places an eviction can take a year. Does her sad, little white boy of a husband not work? Why can’t they support themselves? Did Karen see Ute as a mark from the beginning and their friendship was just a form of love bombing to get the money out of her? I wouldn’t be surprised.
