That family photo at the end of the Healy manual; it truly surprised me how large and misshapen Luna's head is in comparison with her other family members. Despite seeing numerous photos of Luna, that one really makes me shake my head and think: You poor baby, this was all preventable.

Robyn did an update about the glasses. She has a foundation giving Luna them and she constantly has them redo them. Now she decided she knows more then them and sketched her own design for them for them to make.

This picture really highlights the rash/dry patches on Luna's face and it reminds me of the irritation you see on people with severe edema and I hope I'm wrong.

You would think that a sassy three year old like Luna would be hooked up constantly to the eye gaze machine to allow her to share her wondrous thoughts with the world. The whole glasses situation always confuses me... I thought Luna was completely and hopelessly blind... Am I missing something? Does Robyn not understand these glasses don't mean shit, no matter the size, shape, color or degree of cuteness? Or is this simply one of many attempts to manipulate her audience for duping delight?

She has cortical visual impairment. Basically, her eyes can see but her "brain" can't interpret visual stimuli. It's hard to know what kids with CVI see. It's accepted that some of them can distinguish light and dark. Vision therapists usually recommend that toys for kids with CVI be metallic or shiny, light up, or be brightly but simply colored, like red pieces on a black background.

The lenses will provide some physical protection for her eyes, too. Lots of people who are blind in one eye wear glasses to keep the "good" eye from getting damaged in a freak accident.
