Eat The Bugs - Megathread - 🪱🪳🦗🪲

I think it's high time we create a separate thread just to throw in the unrelenting wave of articles, pushing for people to eat the bugs.

In the last few couple months, we've had articles like these:

You WILL eat ze bugs, goy.

To be fair, eating insects and such could be a part of a decent diet, assuming they are properly prepared and made, and are not consumed as replacements for meat, but alongside everything one should normally eat to be healthy. And of course, it should not be forced on anyone. Some people are just grossed out by it. Such is life.

I mean, it's bad.
Who are the people saying this is safe to eat? The bible forbids shellfish for a reason I'm sure.

The Bible forbids pork too, yet we have no issue with it today. Also, certain species of arthropods were allowed:
“Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.” Leviticus 11:21-23

Bugs are gross and I will not eat them.
Bugmen are gross, but they are made of meat, so I will eat them when no other meat is available.

Mark your calendars. Bill Gates and his friends already own most of the farmland in the US. When they reach their tipping point, they will simply declare that they will no longer farm meat because muh ethics/covid/climate change/whatever. And there will be nothing you can do, because muh private company.

The problem is "inevitably end" they seem to be pushing it more as they shift to make climate change the big problem after COVID. Though no one's going to give up meat without the government intervening. Tell me when some legislation is on the table that threatens the meat industry.
He doesn't know about the overton window, logically everything is a conspiracy to him. Until it's time to start eating pressed roach bars.

I don't think we should do this. We don't need fatter, faster-growing cockroaches, but you know that's what they'll do.
They tried making bee honey taste better through selective breeding a long time ago, and now we have an incredibly aggressive and invasive manmade bee species with venom that can literally kill people as a result. I can only fucking imagine what them doing the same shit with cockroaches would fucking lead to.

You already eat up to a dozen spiders a night in your sleep. Stop complaining, fat Americans.
Yhere's a difference between unintentionaly eating a retarded spider that crawled into your mouth hole trap and being told the lie that breeding a potentially destructive species into existence solely to have them replace meat for the plebs of society will save the environment. I know this is a shitpost/joke/funny about america I'm replying to but like It's less about theactual act of eating bugs and more the whole "being forced as a power/status/ political theater thing. People in some places eat shit like mosquito eggs as a bit of extra flavor and a lot of red dyes infood thataren'tmade from chemicals are made from dead beetles. Even the cultures that eat more bugs than others they point to about "eating bugs is good!" eat normal meat on top of the bugs. "I will not eat the bugs" issimilar to"keep your fucking politics out of gaming" where a lotofthe people saying it are doing so as a backlash to a fucking specific kind of pretentious behavior infesting the brains of a lot of people with certain degrees of connections and status, usually from that one fucking part of california where this shit spawns.

If I have to live with radroaches I better get my damn Pip-Boy, or nuclear Armageddon. Honestly either is fine. With an actual contribution to the thread made, time for what I was really coming in here for:

for the record, i am not opposed to eating insects as it does not disturb me nor bother me in any way. i have eaten the bugs before and outside the initial taste being a bit off, i dont see anything wrong with it. so my problem isnt eating the bug. the problem is forcing it onto people who dont want to. if you do not want to eat bugs, that is 100% perfectly fine. the moment someone tries to force the idea onto you thats where i take issue. it has to be a choice and not something put onto others regardless of what they think
