It was so weird being attacked like that and having to prove my loyalty over and over again.

I'm with you. Remember the good old days? I originally signed up to laugh at the fat lady eating herself to death. Nice, simple plot, doled out in 15-minute doses that we could summarize and parse. Sure, there was some speculation about Bibi and Peetz and her family, but it seldom overwhelmed the main story, which was squarely focused on gluttony. I remember when one single fart was a huge scandal.

That is a world apart from the 24/7 shitshow we have now. Not only do we have literally hours and hours from her daily, but the subplots and counterthemes and motifs and cast have become irretrievably convoluted and confusing, as changeable as her whims. Watching fatso down four cheeseburgers with fries and nuggets in a single sitting was one thing; listening to her whining and moaning over some boring, ugly fucknut and his vapid friend is another thing entirely. It's like she has drawn her viewers into the never-ending mentally ill mess she calls a life, and the deeper we go, the crazier and stupider we become.

This is why a lot of regs disappeared, I think. Not because of the state of the thread, but because of the state of her disordered, repetitive, yukky life. There really is a limit to how many hours a day a viewer can devote to her, and she has well exceeded the maximum I can allot to her. So, I follow largely from the sidelines, just waiting for something (anything?) to resolve. And even from the sidelines, it still makes me dumber.

At this point, I don't give a fuck about Nader, DeeDee, Peetz, Roman, or any of the cast of butt-ugly, brain-damaged misfits that populate this show. Thanks to those who still have the fortitude to provide summaries and updates. But whew, this is just plain exhausting now. If I really want a soap opera, there are better-written ones populated by beautiful people on the Old Tube. And I don't really want a soap opera, I wanted to see a fatty eat to death.

It's truly mystifying. I don't know if the old, fat, desperate trope is even that accurate. It seems like a lot of his victims are youngish, borderline not-fat, and just incredibly, almost unbelievably naive. So either they've made it to their 40s and have just decided to settle for Nader and are willfully subjecting themselves to his abuse even though they know better, because it's better than going home to an empty apartment, or they've made it to their 20-30s somehow being so fucking retarded that they think he's got a good heart and he'll be good to them, unlike their previous boyfriends and babydaddies.
