From NY Post:

$54M in Chinese gifts donated to UPenn, home of Biden Center

A government watchdog is demanding the US Attorney probing Hunter Biden in Delaware investigate tens of millions in anonymous donations from China to the University of Pennsylvania, where an academic center is named for his father, President Biden.

The Ivy League college raked in a total of $54.6 million from 2014 through June 2019 in donations from China, including $23.1 million in anonymous gifts starting in 2016, according to public records.

Most of the anonymous donations came after the university announced in February 2017 that it would create the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement. Joe Biden, whose term as vice president had just ended, was to lead the center and was also named a professor at the university.

The center, which is located in Washington, DC., opened its doors in February 2018. Antony Blinken, whom Biden named as Secretary of State, briefly served as its managing director.

The Ivy League university received $15.8 million in anonymous Chinese gifts that year, including one eye-popping $14.5 million donation in May 2018, records show.

The flurry of donations may be related to Hunter Biden’s business interests in China, the National Legal and Policy Center, a Virginia-based watchdog, alleged in complaints sent in May and October 2020 to the Departments of Education and Justice.

Last week, the group asked US Attorney David Weiss to step in and investigate the Chinese largesse to the school as part of his federal tax probe of Hunter Biden.
“We’ve asked … Weiss to pursue the larger network of individuals and institutions who benefited from millions doled out by foreign interests connected to Hunter Biden’s work in China and Ukraine,” said Tom Anderson, director of the NLPC’s Government Integrity Project.

In its 12-page complaint, the watchdog cited a 2017 text found on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop that CEFC China Energy Co, one of the firms that Hunter Biden had a financial stake in, wanted to lobby politicians in the US but did not want to register under the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA), required for all foreign lobbyists.

“We don’t want to have to register as foreign agents under the FCPA [sic] which … is much more expansive than people who should know choose not to know,” reads the May 1, 2017, text sent from Hunter Biden to his former business partner Tony Bobulinski.

A University of Pennsylvania spokesman denied any anonymous Chinese money had gone to the center.
“The Penn Biden Center has never solicited or received any gifts from any Chinese or other foreign entity. In fact, the University has never solicited any gifts for the Center,” Stephen MacCarthy said.

Although the center’s mission statement says it does not accept contributions, MacCarthy contended that it had received a combined $1,100 in three unsolicited gifts from two donors since 2017, but said both donors are Americans.

He would not disclose the identity of the donors or say how the massive, anonymous Chinese funds were used at the school.
After Biden was elected president in 2020, the center said it would operate “completely independent of the Biden administration.”

Other Ivy League colleges have raked in Chinese money, including Harvard, which got $75 million during the 2014-2019 period, and Yale, which received $43.5 million, records show.

The Education Department opened investigations in 2020 into whether Harvard and Yale were meeting reporting requirements for foreign cash.

Now anyone with any ties in Academia knows about these sorts of ‘donations’, which often come with hush-hush requirements that a certain number of grad students, say, are Chinese. And these students simply steal research for China.
Other ‘donations’ often result in the set up of ‘think tanks’ with euphemistic names like the ‘Confucian Institute’. These serve as both ideological indoctrination centers and monitoring posts for Chinese students on campus.
Once again the Bidens are heavily implicated in prioritizing foreign interests over their own country’s, especially if they get to wet their beaks a little. Hopefully impeachment can’t be too far away, but only because execution for high treason isn’t likely to happen no matter how deserved.

Thing is, I'm pretty sure that they tried this before with hispanics, the problem comes in when that group stops being a reliable DNC voting block. Furthermore, the economic issues we're having right now are going to make this country less and less appealing to illegal immigrants as the crisis continues and worsens. What happens when the illegals in question all want to head to Canada or Europe instead because there's more to mooch off of there?
You underestimate how literally shit it is in their homelands. As bad as it is for you, it's nothing but opportunity for them. There's a reason they endure exploitative pay and living with 16 other men in a 2-bedroom shack; the alternative is eons worse.

Blumpf endorsed Oz. I feel nothing given that it was him and his bs, or pro-China Bushite McCormick.

Posobiec shitting and crying right now.
He could just, ya know, tell em they got a shit deal and say he wouldn't want either of them within 50 feet of a public office. Maybe mention a grassroots local who he's got his eye on instead.

It's like he endorsed swallowing diarrhea because the alternative is swallowing cyanide.

Con Twitter is seething on some "Blumpf has burned us for the last time" type shit.

I blame Jack for all the terminally online heat against Oz. Dislike him, but did these mainstream (populist) truecons not look at the guy he was in a tossup with to win? And fuck the risk of a runoff with this late and FUBAR race.

Parnell should've stayed.

@Ita Mori PA primary is in a month. Any grassroots are currently polling single digits compared to 44/44 Oz-McCormick. It's too late.

A lot of law school classes don't teach you how to be a lawyer; many of the professors don't know the first thing about that. The classes teach you how to be a law school professor.
I don't have a problem with that, generally. Everyone has to go through it, and it does build up a basis of experience in how to deal with legal topics (reading cases, distinguishing cases, getting a feel for language, getting a certain amount of doctrine in your head, etc.), even if not how to, you know, actually practice law. But it is annoying to have a professor with more degrees than trials litigated. If classes were all taught by people who had practiced for at least 5 years, it would certainly be a lot better, but that's fairly uncommon.

If you go to law school and pass the bar but don't go on to make an actual living in legal practice then there's certainly something wrong with you.

I'm seeing Sean Parnell saying how disappointed he is with the Trump endorsement of Oz, and all I'm thinking is bitch, this wouldn't be happening if you stayed in the race.

This will amplify the RINO/Never Trump attempt to get Desantis to run, but if what Richard Barris said is true when he interviewed Ron and asked him point blank, Desantis will not challenge Trump. If 45 wants to run again he's stepping aside.

Reasonable. DeSantis has time, Trump does not.

Breitbart News discussed how Joe Biden has only given one interview to establishment media this year:
Biden’s avoidance of the press is noticeable, even for CNN. The left-wing network has noted Biden only gave nine total news conferences in 2021. In contrast, Donald Trump in 2017 gave 22 and Barack Obama in 2009 gave 27.

Biden is also well short of his predecessors on the number of solo press conferences given, according to The American Presidency Project. On average, Biden is not holding even one solo press conference a month. His monthly average is 0.79. Per year, he is averaging 9.40.

Both Trump and Obama outpaced Biden: Trump averaged 1.83 solo press conferences per month and 22 per year; Obama held slightly less than Trump with 1.70 on average per month and 20.38 per year.

Also, many pollsters are noticing that Biden is lacking a brain to think critically:
Biden’s lack of press conferences coincides with polling that reveals many Americans doubt his mental capability. Fifty-eight percent of Americans believe Biden should receive a cognitive test. Less than 25 percent of voters strongly believe Biden is stable. Fifty-four percent of adults think Biden is not mentally sound enough to serve as president. And just 29 percent of Americans believe President Joe Biden will pursue a second term in 2024.

The polling is likely a result of how Biden has handled the press. In the last several months of his presidency, Biden has snapped and cursed at reporters and contradicted his administration.

Yeah Parnell dropping out really fucked things up.
