There was no issue with the JP and ID branches of each other doing collabs. EN meanwhile has brick walls put up all over it and people assume it's hololive causing it.

People can argue about vshojo getting multiple collabs easily but the fact is this situation is just bizarre and is just keeping HoloEN in a bubble more than they should.

And if HolostarsEN happens and they are put in the same bubble or worse, and Niji male collabs are banned, that group will be well and truly fucked.

Hololive ignore the vshojo problem because they are a Twitch outlet, and hololive barely do Twitch stuff which they should have done so occasionally to get the numbers.

And not all NijiEN/vshitshow collabs are good. Didn't they just have crab game where their thumbnails heavily marketed vshojo but only had one of them in it?

Hololive just need someone to vet potential collabs and if they're not going to cause issues then just allow it. Not just NijiEN, but decent vtubers elsewhere too.

If they had vetted outsider collabs beforehand they would not have allowed veibae to begin with. And they may have been wary about nyanners too to an extent.

Both are Japanese companies making relatively new moves into the EN market. Perhaps they feel EN audience has far less brand loyalty compared to their traditional audiences. Whatever the case is it comes across as incredibly insecure.

I always assume it is NijiEn since Moona and Millie haven't collabed either, and HoloID collabs with near everybody

With these two we can have two overlapping groups. Irys, Towa and Kanata for HoloAngels, and Irys, Towa, and Choco for HoloDemons. Like a Venn diagram.

EDIT: I'll bet if Irys wanted to lead a holotori style group she totally could. She has the extroversion and language skills to do it, and unlike Kiara she's actually in Japan with the other members.

Occam's razor dictates it is. The only reasonable explanation I can think of for Niji blocking the collabs is that they don't want their talents to overlap too much with Holo because it makes it so they'll always be playing second fiddle.

The most obvious explanation is that Holo recognise that they have 90% of the male demographic western YouTube market under their thumb and cannot grow beyond this, so wilfully allowing their viewers to be exposed to another major company on YouTube is not in their best interests.

People will mention HoloID but the reality is that HoloID is also mostly EN fans so the same risks apply. Imagine r/Holo APEXfags discovering Selen through Ollie.

I think it'll act as a bargaining chip. 'We will give you your Kiara x Pomu collab if you give us Luxiem exposure'. Both companies theoretically have a hold on a market the other wants.

As an aside while I was skimming through, I don't think I saw anyone mention it. As far as I recall she's sort of marked in the same tag as Sana and Ayame for the "consistency" bracket and whether people think she'll stick around or not, but brat witch did her "To 1 million" karaoke too for anyone taking notes on who hit it and when.
