Iowa just all but locked for the Republicans in the senate. The only real Democrat contender was ruled ineligible due to failing to get sufficient signitures.
Even then. She was going up again Grassley. In Iowa, post-Trump. During a Red electoral year.

This will save Dems some cash in the long run, but the embarrassment will remain.

"The whole I'm pro gun" thing form Biden is dumb. He realizes that most gun owners are very aware that he's a lieing peice of shit and isn't fooling them. Probably doesn't. His handlers really do think gun owners are retarded don't they.
I’ll add my 2 cents.

Used to ghost a Texas Hunting Forum. About 25% of them were Q-cultists, 60% were just your average Trump fans, and the remaining chunk of the pie were “republican for Biden” RINO types. The latter sounded no different then a CNN article and about how they couldn’t vote for trump because “they were Jewish” or were “waiting for an actual republican.” They reeked of the old image of “loose with morals and grace” country club scotch drinking visage of the Republican Party. A lot of those men I could tell looked down on other hunters as “smelly low class Walmart hunters” if that is an accurate summary, and given their bragging of going on some mid 5 figure hunt for wild sheep or whatever the fuck, chances are gas prices and food prices ain’t phasing those cuck pricks.

The forum closed down to all but advanced members cus I guess a forum user was part of the 1/6 Boomerwaffen Capitol Attack Squad.

Here's the thing, it benefits the Republicans more in the money department. She did not have an awful chance meaning the Republicans would have had to focus more money there for defense. This frees them up to focus more on the small number of seats they want to take.

In short, the person with the most objectives benefits the most from one being removed as important.

It's going in front of the iowa supreme court on wednesday and i got to say it's pretty sketchy.
In one of the Allamakee signatures, the voter put a ZIP code instead of the date. In Cedar, one signer appeared to put their birthdate instead of the signature date, and another left the date blank. With those signatures disallowed, the total number of signers in each of the two counties fell to 99.
I am glad republicans are doing rules-lawyer bullshit but it still feels like she'll be allowed in.

Pushing for gun control in a year where Democrats are already going to get destroyed might not be the best strategy.
No, makes sense. The right can't be more pissed to begin with. The center has the economy as their main concern and well....

Their only viable strategy left is to rile their base as much as possible and -hope- it drives turnout enough to offset the relatively low general turnout of a midterm election.

The left literally cannot conceive a universe in which people might have good faith disagreements with them. To them, illegal gun control laws are a sure bet, because everyone down at the Marxist co-op bookstore and the Starbucks loves the idea.

This could also backfire due to all the leftists buying guns because of what happened during the Summer of Love 2020, Democrats have really bent themselves into a pretzel.

I agree. Viable does not necessarily mean good. It simply means the downsides of the action are less than the upsides. Or at least the estimates are.

The rise in gun ownership does indicate this strategy to have less impact than prior. But it is also not their only strategy. Expect a -lot- more pandering in the months to come.

Addition: Expect a lot more Mask Off moments. They have hit the point where their only option is to go full steam ahead. This isn't because they think they can get away with it or any such thing. It's because they can no longer distance themselves from it. So their only hope is to slap it all down and hope the silent majority was in their camp all along.

It's all in time.

But if they overreach on trying to rile up their base, they just add non-economic reasons for the center to pivot rightward.
That's gotta be why Maggie Hasan (D-NH) is out trying to save her seat by blasting Biden for the border crisis and saying they need to consider "physical barriers" (lmao). Either she's bucking from party directives on high or Schumer's leadership is not following Biden/Klain's lead.

Look back on my post. I added something at the end which addresses this after you had quoted me.

I couldn't make it through "Bumblin' with Biden" for the entire thing, so how exactly does Biden plan on doing this? The Senate will just block him because Manchin knows any gun control laws like this would piss off his base, and Sinema probably would flip as well. If he tries a EA, I'm sure Rapin' Thomas and the rest of the SCOTUS will come along, and slap Biden on the cock for a 3rd time for over extending on his abuse of the EA's. Seriously, between the COVID eviction ban and the vax mandate Biden really wants to let the alphabet agencies rule over us just so he can bypass the senate.

The meme of "how many times do we need to teach you this lesson old man" is becoming more and more true the longer he's in office.

You have way too much faith in SCOTUS when it comes to 2A issues. If they are the last line of defense we are fucked.
They are reluctant to rule on the 2nd amendment... but they'd not have to.

"This order is improper because it doesn't follow x, y, and z beuracratic issue" is not only something up their alley, it is something they have done.

So long as it's not an issue that actually sets 2A precedent, they are fine. Which... -is- fucked, but thankfully that's not what would be asked of them.

Its not his fault he doesn't know the answer. He's got dementia after all.

No, SCOTUS has been remarkably consistent in recent years on 2A cases. The Left refuses to talk about Heller (2008) and McDonald (2010), and for very good reasons. Heller established the 2A as an independent right, not collective, and McDonald did something that shouldn't have needed to be done and declare it was incorporated via the 14th Amendment to apply to the states. Probably the first time SCOTUS got around to de-pretzeling the 14th instead of just making it even more twisted and ridiculous.
McDonald v. City of Chicago, 561 U.S. 742 (2010), was a landmark decision of the Supreme Court of the United States that found that the right of an individual to "keep and bear arms", as protected under the Second Amendment, is incorporated by the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and is thereby enforceable against the states. The decision cleared up the uncertainty left in the wake of District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) as to the scope of gun rights in regard to the states.

Initially, the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit had upheld a Chicago ordinance banning the possession of handguns as well as other gun regulations affecting rifles and shotguns, citing United States v. Cruikshank (1876), Presser v. Illinois (1886), and Miller v. Texas (1894). The petition for certiorari was filed by Alan Gura, the attorney who had successfully argued Heller, and Chicago-area attorney David G. Sigale. The Second Amendment Foundation and the Illinois State Rifle Association sponsored the litigation on behalf of several Chicago residents, including retiree Otis McDonald.

The oral arguments took place on March 2, 2010. On June 28, 2010, the Supreme Court, in a 5–4 decision, reversed the Seventh Circuit's decision, holding that the Second Amendment was incorporated under the Fourteenth Amendment thus protecting those rights from infringement by state and local governments. It then remanded the case back to the Seventh Circuit to resolve conflicts between certain Chicago gun restrictions and the Second Amendment.
SCOTUS has only moved more conservative since then, and the right has only gotten better at weaponizing lawfare.

Gun sales exploded in Seattle. Some extremely shady people that had zero gun store etiquette armed up as much as they could when CHAZ hit, but they were swimming in the wake of all the non-progressives that loaded up when covid started. The vast majority of people bought ARs and and 9mm duty pistols. With those rifle and pistols sales came a shitload of 15-30 round magazines, and Washington just passed its first magazine capacity law. The problem is, I don't think most of these people are smart enough to realize they're now violating one of their precious gun laws. They're fortunate that city DAs won't charge progressives with gun crimes on the grounds that they're too retarded to know better. A lot of lefties streamed themselves making unregistered SBRs after one of the school shootings by sawing the barrel down in misguided attempt at destroying it. A couple investigations were opened but nobody ever saw a conviction over it.

It's all just a crap shoot either way. Gun politics in the 2020s is grabbing your nuts and praying the unelected courts sway in your favor. I don't really think it's something that can be easily fixed within the confines of the system.
