If you want to read some fucking fantastic fiction about people much like the ones in this thread, I highly recommend any book by Donald Ray Pollock. Start with Knockemstiff then The Devil All the Time. Anyone who enjoys this thread would be totally sucked into his books. Impossible to put down.

Finally got around to The Devil All the Time this weekend (either it's popular at our library or the rest of you degenerates got to it first) and you might be responsible for some rather upsetting dreams tonight . . . still worth it.

OMG yes! Thanks for the recommendation, I bought and read both of those books on Kindle! I enjoyed both and agree it's like lolcow fan fiction.

Second, I think it's cool as fuck that so many of us read one or both of those books. It seems like nobody reads for enjoyment anymore with all the electronic entertainment...
