Omg watching Yoshi's island was miserable. He would complain about the controls and "why would they do that??" For shit like Yoshi having a bit of momentum when he comes to a stop. At first I thought he was hamming it up...

Mike complaining about the handling in Yoshi's Island is especially rich considering he's a giant Sonicfag.

As far as finding a good streamer that doesn't suck nuts, I've basically given up. I've watched enough Joel for him to become fairly formulaic. I can't watch him play anything I actually like because he's generally abysmal at vidya.

Simpleflips is good background noise, he's fairly funny and doesn't do politics or faggotry (and told his listeners to "get over" him saying retard, lol) but he generally plays a ton of the same thing over and over. The most interesting thing about his streams is seeing the stuff people do with Mario 64, honestly. Special mention does to go Simp because he's the first streamer I've watched that actually has GOOD guest episodes because he only streams with friends and they have great chemistry.

Jerma has entered decline because of his fucking nauseating chat and the fact that he has a bunch of weird old man health issues and can't stream a lot. Jerma goes between making me laugh and rolling my eyes and clicking out of the stream too quickly to put him on as BG material.

Listening to streamers used to be my go-to for eating or being otherwise unoccupied but I think I've just grown out of it. Occasionally I'll find something good, but that's rare. Usually I'll just put on music or some spooky cryptid or serial killer doc or something.

It'd be nice if we could have the golden years of the internet back.

I stopped watching Mike after a time where he felt the need to fill dead air on stream with his politics for a majority of the stream, he's becoming a combination of Dark Syde Phill inability to play games and blame the devs for it in a fit of rage and Ethan Klein levels of becoming an attack hound for his audience and regurgitating the narrative of twitter.
Even if you agree with the points he brings after 4 hours of listening to the same basic bitch preaching to the choir drivel tires you.
And the signals for these where in from the beginning but they weren't as prevalent or up and front and he could had worked on them as he went along, but his audience of "Mike is an infantile baby who's just doing his best uwu" started to coddle him and mothballed any attempt at challenging the bullshit he was spewing,
I'm not mad and he can make whatever he wants of his stream, its just sad seeing so much potential to just spiral down like this

I'm conflicted on mike because while his solo streams are absolutely miserable (with some exceptions, his geoguessr streams lately have been fun since it doesn't usually invoke his baby rage), whenever he streams with guests or vice versa it's always great. He does stuff with people often enough for me to watch only those streams and be content, so not quite fed up with him yet

Yoshi's Island isn't even that hard, I've beaten the game several times with minimal issues. The streamers I watch at least know something about the game they're playing and don't have a hard time learning the controls or blaming the game for being poorly designed for stupid reasons. I don't even go out of my way to watch Mike unless he's in a collab.

Vinny new streaming schedule is pretty good though. I noticed he's been doing a lot more collabs now since he doesnt stream everyday. Him Mike, Limes and Rev have good chemistry. Plus with a bunch of other information that's been said throughout the years, it seems pretty clear he either is straight or goes both ways. My guess is he's pretty straight.

Simpleflips feels pretty variety streamer because he plays such a variety of Mario 64 stuff. Kosmic, the Super Mario Bros speedrunner, has hit a similar niche for me lately, playing SMB 1 ROM hacks for variety. His edited stuff is great if you have 20 minutes to kill.

As for Mike his chemistry with Rev, Knudsen, and Vinny is pretty great but I haven't watched him solo in a while. He always did have a bit of bad habit of going off on a political tangent that would probably have been a better fit for Twitter or Tumblr, but he was generally acceptable to watch if I was in the mood for his streams.

I don't know the context of what exactly you're referring to but it could also be that Mario is, you know, good. Even the worst, most uninspired Mario games are still technically competent and well-designed. Sonic at his absolute best is "pretty alright" and literally unplayable at his worst. This is coming from somebody who absolutely loves Sonic 3 and Mania.

(Just noticed you were talking about the movie, in which case I'm not sure why a man Vinny's age who doesn't like Sonic went to see it, but whatever.)
