There's no reason so far to think this shit is anything more than rumors currently. I find it highly doubtful that Fromsoft would willingly sell themselves to Snoy like some people in this thread are currently dreading.
Sony is in the process of acquiring FromSoftware, according to insiders - It was nice while it lasted, fellas

I mean the person made a one sentence tweet followed by a history of FS to back up that one sentence to try and give it an aura of Sony "buying" FS. They just made a game that sold over 12 million copies in 3 weeks and that was only possible due to being multi platform. The best time to buy for Sony was before Elden Rings release or wait and buy FS after a flop.

On one hand I don't like the trend of studios being gobbled up by megacorps. On the other hand, Microsoft kick-started this wave of faggotry and my seething, burning hatred of them transcends the realm of gaming and stretches back decades... so if this happening means microsoft fags get bent over a barrel and fucked and lose something they actually enjoy, I am all for it and hope it happens. The sooner the better. Microsoft is on par with Disney in terms of companies I wish would get the Moobys-from-Dogma treatment.

Thing is Sony already owns shares in Kadokawa. It's already a known factor that Sony and Kadokawa has partnered in an attempt to corner the japanese media market, and it was already theorized last year that Sony was looking to buy From Software from Kadokawa once the partnership between the two was formed

Jim Ryan is the low hanging fruit that they like to make clickbait articles about, all the policy changes for Playstation have come down from the Japanese parent company who decided to center playstation as the main point for the One Sony Policy. The whole fighting game genre is in a bit of a weird place since most are now some kind of e-sport and everything is geared towards that.
The games are not made with the same mentality that older fighting games were, where you were intended to fight the person right next to you. Now everything is geared towards multi-tiered international tournaments and characters are designed with specific real world rule sets in mind. Older games did not have these restrictions.
The bar for entry is much higher than other genres.

From even gives spotlight to Fat People and makes them a force to be reckoned with
They've also been pulling the strong female character who don't need no man since Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring. Like The Old Hunters was based around this specifically. Dark Souls 2 has a questline dedicated to a character like that and even Elden Ring has one that's tied to Godrick's questline and she helps you out to fight.
Everything has been there already, And you know what? King's Field had zero of this outside of fat people. KF4 specifically had fat fucks who hit like trucks.

The whole method of Neo-Liberal business started at the tail end of the 80's, where it became uncouth to just have unchecked consumerism. So if you dressed up a product in the name of social activism then it became OK to consume all you want. Breast Cancer pink ribbon stuff was the first real success that they had with product labeling and it was a template that could be transferred and reworked. That's why everything becomes rainbow flags around June and July.

Yeah, people worried that the games are going to get 'pozzed' up aren't paying attention. From's games are already full of 'diverse' characters, stronk wahmen, fatties, Elden Ring even lets you change your fucking gender on a whim. There's a reason skittle people on Twitter 'love' their games. I find it hard to believe any of this would change, even with a Sony acquisition. From's far from unwilling to create characters like this, they just aren't so in your face about it.
Unlike Bluepoint, who have every character in the opening cutscene suspiciously helmetless so that you can make super sure to see that there's five niggers and a woman fighting all the demons.

I always have to wonder. What the fuck does Kadokawa even do with Fromsoft? Kadokawa is a publishing company but they haven't actually published any of Fromsofts games. All their games over the last decade or so have either been Sony, Bandai, or Activision. So what does Kadokawa even do outside skim some of the money that From makes?
