I saw that guy in recent movie Mystery Men and he wasn't funny at all. William H. Macy was way better. But maybe the script didn't suit Izzard's brand of comedy, sometimes that happens.
He definitely looks funny as a "woman" but not funny as in "ha ha", funny as in "an escaped mental patient who masturbates woodland critters"

Have to agree with Sexual Chocolate here. Eddie Izzard was an excellent comedian back in the day, before all this po-mo gender shit melted his fucking brain - he was one of the best, it could be argued - but he's a very unimpressive actor and is in a bunch of awful fucking movies. I don't know if he has a terrible agent or is just absolute dogshit when it comes to picking scripts. The one that immediately springs to mind is him being the henchman in that Avengers movie from the '90s - not the capeshit Marvel Avengers, the British spy Avengers with Uma Thurman as Emma Peel and Sean Connery as the evil Scottish villain who wanted to steal the world's weather or whatever the fuck it was.
To be honest, there's always been something about Izzard that made me think the dude was probably a huge fucking narcissist (unusual for a troon, I know!). He has a weird vibe about him in all the behind-the-scenes footage I've seen of him, and seems to sort of awkwardly
change when he realises he's on camera. It's like all of the sudden the light comes on and, "Ooh, it's showtime!" This is a super obscure UK comedy reference, so rate me autistic if you don't get it, but he always puts me in mind of that Alan Partridge skit from the radio show, "Put me on the telly! Put me on the telly! I'm a media whore with no punters! Put me on the telly!"
It's my suspicion that he thought he could blag his way into acting in proper films from his wildly successful stand up career, when those professions are far from synonymous. He can't even do the voice actor thing which a lot of comedians are usually really good at - Robin Williams as the genie in Aladdin being the obvious gold standard. He was Nigel the koala in The Wild (which was Disney's answer to Madagascar, which nobody remembers at all) and Reepicheep in those sub-Lord of the Rings Narnia films and both of those vocal performances are really wooden, bland and unmemorable.
That said, I've met him on two occasions, pre-she/her pronoun wankery, and he was very nice to me. But then they always are when they're with their adoring public, aren't they?
