How is that not insurrection under the 1/6 definition? Or does disorderly conduct with the intent to obstruct government proceedings not count when they're doing it?

Trump's biggest problem was that he didn't have congress. DeSantis wouldn't have had congress either. Might have picked better advisors and cabinet though and definitely will post-Trump.

I don't think so though. Once you enter the Presidency, you are no longer working at the state level, where the establishment has far less control. You are now in the DC swamp, where people have sat for years currying favor and forming alliances. If Desantis is legit, then I expect entirely the same reception politically and media wise, that was brought out for Trump.
