UC Berkeley campus on lockdown after 'credible threat'​

The UC Berkeley campus is currently locked down due to a "credible threat," UCPD said Thursday morning.

"Campus police are investigating a credible campus-wide threat. Please go inside and move away from doors and windows," campus police said in an emergency alert issued at 10 a.m. "If you are not on campus, please stay away from the area. Facilities Services are locking buildings on campus."

UCPD tweeted they are "actively looking for a person who may want to harm specific individuals," and that there is no threat of an active shooter at this time.

The Daily Californian, the student newspaper on campus, reports the threat originated at the Cesar Chavez Student Center, a large student services building at the Bancroft and Telegraph entrance to campus. Police scanner activity indicates campus officers are working through the building to clear it of any potential threats.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information is available.

The police haven’t been able to catch the suspect, but at the same time they haven’t released a name or much information🤔

I also heard that the buses have not been shut down. The dude could have literally grabbed a bus and be anywhere in the Bay Area right now.

What, you think anybody at UC Berkeley has ever shot a gun before? Or was in fact not a soyboy prior to COVID?

Well, okay, their physics department is pretty damn good, but somehow I doubt a physicist would completely miss every single shot. Or be of an unmentionable skin color.

Update. The police have ‘detained’ the suspect and have not given any further details. The secrecy behind this is ridiculous.

Just FYI, the University of California recently provided funding for providing homeless people with free shelter and meals at local hotels, hotels with nicer accommodations than student housing, which are littered with maintenance and security issues.

I'd have thought there would be at least one Asian incel upholding the old honor: sic transit gloria mundi.

Na, Asians get a massive body count, like the Virginia Tech shooter. They take time to aim and give anyone still alive a second round to finish them off.

And yeah, no race mentioned is a guarantee they're black, and the usual lack-of-accuracy is at play here as a result. I just thought I'd drop that info just in case anyone assumed it was a white person (yeah, yeah :P) as a possible explanation.
