It's honestly been forgotten, but before the USA got dragged into the French, British, German, Italian Wars, we were actually friends with the Russian Empire. Russia and America saw each other as partners in containing the European retards.

Did taking down statues of Southern generals, etc. was "psychological terrorism "(pardon the redundancy)? because that's what I was referring to specifically. Not to say the destruction of symbols is insignificant, but on the context surrounding Floyd 2020 protests I see their effect was largely to "inspire" the protesting contingents across platforms, and as a rally point for conservatives to showcase the looters out of control. Just to put a pin on it, I find it hard to care too much about glorying the rulling class of the losing side who brought the country into civil war, but I can still read about them or be interested enough to learn about their lives without felling the need to hate or love them.

I don't know much about KF Vince McMahon, whether he is Russian, Ukrainian, or if he takes it up the ass on Sundays, but I assume you mean Ukraine efforts to de-Russia itself pre-war.

There is two ways to look at this: just because cultural elements of a group individual get suppressed, doesn't mean the individuals should chimp out and run towards the motherland ride-or-die. There is a reason why the Americans who spout the glory of mother Africa and denounce the lack of African representation in pop culture, don't usally fly to a place they know is worse than the one they currently live in.

Secondly, If people like VM (who IDK) went all pro-Russia there would still be a contingent of people who would call him a sheep for following Putin's commands, so as far as I'm concerned he is dammed if he do/ dammed if he doesn't.

If you are based you examine the situation an make an informed opinion, or not, based on the best rational explanation even if it doesn't align with any tribe. The situation is that with a war raging on most people on the ground won't see past the difficulties they and their love ones are facing, which is understandable. For the rest of us barely literate Westoids, the immediacy of the conflict is not present so we, I believe, should avoid going full retard for either side unless it involves us. But this is a site to follow funny retards, so that's thankfully out of the window here.

Russia apologia aside the answer is simple

Humans are the most mentally and more importantly psychologically complex creatures around and they simultaneously contain extremely strong individualistic and herd instincts in their psyches. Which is just one example of how complex our minds and behavior are. Humans function just fine despite seeming contradictions and cognitive dissonance everywhere because the incredible range of our brains' mental capabilities that creates the contradictions also gives us the ability to not maladapt and go extinct from them

If you are ever surprised by humans or a human then you're thinking of them too simplistically

Your insistence that the US is a neutral actor here is not borne in fact, as even the lefty commentators can properly deduce that this is primarily a proxy war between the US and Russia. If anything, the Ukrainian people have less influence in this war than US foreign policy wonks.

Facts:

1) The Ukrainian people voted for neutrality between the US/EU and Russia. (2010)
2) the Ukrainian people voted to end the war in the Donbas (2019)
3) the Ukrainian people never voted to psychotically antagonize a futile and self-destructive war against their nuclear armed neighbor
