Did Kennedy ever do anything to deserve the hype or is it just a combination of looking good and getting killed?

Kennedy had a ton of guys in his cabinet that wanted to attack Cuba during the Missile Crisis. But a lot of it was the two biggest things that happened in his presidency was the Missile Crisis and getting killed. So while he was doing a middling job on other aspects, the fact he was a major reason most the world wasn't a massive crater and him being assassinated not even 3 years into his presidency turned him from a good president into a great one for most people.

I think it was a combo of being young/looking good, with the message of optimism and then dying young that propelled Kennedy to some kind of mythical status among a lot of people.

I don't think they'll try to level the building. Presumably, Mariupol will be part of the DPR after the war, and the city's economy mostly revolves around steel production. Azov can't really sally forth out of the building either since the building is surrounded by ODAs.

Someone posted on dvach there's an almost identical copy of this steelworks in Nizhny and the tunnels leading out of the bunkers are at quite a distance away from the complex, so presumably Avozstal's are as well. As the layout is already known, blocking exits won't be an issue, and bombing the ones that might be able to get out won't have an impact on the steelworks itself.

I mean, it's gonna sound callous af, but Germany doesn't really have political ties to the Ukraine. We have no defense agreements with them, they're not part of the EU nor NATO. Sure, Russia might continue with the Baltic States or Poland or whomever after the Ukraine, but then the EU and NATO will obviously intervene. Why is it such a moral imperative to intervene now? "Best time to stop a world war is right now"? "Appeasement only helped Hitler" and so on. Who says that's true? The war will cost Russia dearly, even if they win the seperatist regions they'll be ousted from world trade for a long time and their economy is fucked. The EU and NATO will use the time to get their shit together to be prepared if Russia is actually stupid enough to actually attack a NATO/EU member.
Look, I disapprove of the russian invasion as much as the next guy, but if we see this as our moral obligation to go into full war-economy, where do we draw the line? What's the point of NATO and EU if any war of aggression is reason enough to intervene?
And what's the deal with the general moral absoluteness of the war? It's natural to be sceptical when people you've been told for the past 20 years were regular fellas like you are now suddenly all bloodlusty rapists and murderers, a marauding army of inhuman monsters committing massacres and mass rapes?
We know TPTB lie about atrocities to drum up support for war. But as usual we're not allowed to doubt anything, everything reported is fact.
I'm tired of this shit.

Russian MoD has announced targets of second phase of Special Military Operation.

Russian military in the course of second phase of Special Operation will take control of Donbass and south of Ukraine. This was stated by the Deputy Commander of the Central Military District for Military-Political Work Major General Rustam Mannekaev, TASS reports.

"With the beginning of second phase of Special Operation <...> one of the tasks of Russian forces is taking full control of Donbass and south of Ukraine"

He says that controlling Donbass and South Ukraine will allow to establish land corridor to Crimea and also "to influence the vital objects of the Ukrainian economy", and over the south of Ukraine - another corridor in Transnistria, where "there are facts of oppression of the Russian-speaking population."

"It seems we are fighting with the whole world, as it was in Great Patriotic War, all of Europe, all the world was against us. And now it is the same, they never loved Russia." - general added.
