I believe Musk is sincere in his desire to make Twitter less of a thought-police cesspool of a social media. However, I'm dubious of one man's ability to do so, even the owner. He's not going to babysit and micromanage this site. The best thing he could do is appoint some truly free speech oriented individuals to manage it.

As we saw with Facebook and Youtube, it seems the pool of front-line moderators tend to be far left-wing and unable to tamper their personal biases. This is what happens when you select for journalism and other media-based degree holders, which are near-universally far-left in orientation.

It's interesting to contemplate because the woke can't say whatever they want. They're indoctrinated into only saying what they are allowed to say. Which is just restating what others are saying. Not thinking, just repeating.

Then like a flock of birds changing direction, they can all shift instantly and all be saying something different. Yet don't seem to notice because they aren't thinking.

It's an ideology of compelled speech. This is probably why they don't understand or support free speech. They themselves are confined by what they can say. So of course they don't support people not being compelled. They don't even understand it. They would never risk being a potential bad person by saying something that isn't allowed. They would never question it. They find great comfort in being woke, as they see themselves as being a good person. It's easier to not have to think. To just follow.

When they come across people who are not woke, who are not repeating what is allowed. They suffer emotional stress because it forces them out of the comfort of not having to think. The second they are challenged, they get overridden by emotions because they actually can't think. They can't explain why they hold an opinion. They can't refute criticism of it. They get especially emotional when they can actually recognise there's a flaw, or someone has a point. However they know their opinion is correct, even if they don't understand why and it angers them.

So of course they don't like free speech, they find it too uncomfortable. They like being sheep.

Musk didn't say a complete lack of regulation, all he said was to get rid of the cancel culture, and presumably curtail the stranglehold the extreme left has on the platform. To Mr. Rednit saying Twitter is bipartisan, that's his left-wing bias showing. I've seen people get banned on there for some pretty tame stuff, basically wrongthink.

I know someone who got put in Twitter jail for the sole crime of sharing one link to an article that suggested that colloidal silver could help treat/prevent COVID. She wasn't even promoting it, just asking what people thought of it because she wasn't sure. Clearly Twitter isn't a place for actual discourse, only for reinforcing one viewpoint and censoring the opposition. To certain people this would be 'protecting the public from misinformation' but why is it their role to decide what counts as misinformation in the first place? Also if it really is misinformation then why can't we address it openly and show a discussion thread about it rather than just pretending like it doesn't exist?

Fuck I hate Twitter, so glad I'm not on any social media, unless you count this.

They dont understand things like, liquidity, how to actually get food to places, pay people to get the trucks driven and infrastructure to do so. I understand he can infact do something to help people, no one would ever fault em, but it ultimately isn't his responsibility anyway. Whenever you help people it simply is never enough to do anything less than go bankrupt.

It isn't geek cultures fault but rather grifters and activists. Most geeks were content to stay on their little corner and be left alone. But then Hollywood came along and began making comic book movies and nerdy shows like Stranger Things and they saw just how much money they can get out of nerds. Soon being a geek became fashionable and profitable. You had thots on Twitch pretending to be geek girls in order to get money from lonely, coomer male nerds. You have actors who think that what they say on stuff matters and began opening their mouths on matters they know nothing about. Then have fake geeks who never read a comic book, played a video game or TTRPG in their life demanding changes to please some minority who have no interest in a product. Then you have the greatest sin. The LGBTQ got interested in geek culture and as we all know, anything the LGBTQ touches turns to shit. I would love nothing more then for geek culture to go back to being reviled and unfashionable like in the good old days.
