I believe Musk is sincere in his desire to make Twitter less of a thought-police cesspool of a social media. However, I'm dubious of one man's ability to do so, even the owner. He's not going to babysit and micromanage this site. The best thing he could do is appoint some truly free speech oriented individuals to manage it.
As we saw with Facebook and Youtube, it seems the pool of front-line moderators tend to be far left-wing and unable to tamper their personal biases. This is what happens when you select for journalism and other media-based degree holders, which are near-universally far-left in orientation.
