I know that Freddie is a friggin commie scumbag but what he says here pretty much sums up my thoughts on the whole debacle:
Yeah, thats the best part about being someone with reasoning skills, you can understand that someone you dont inherently agree with can still make a valid point about something. That doesn't mean that you are giving up on your principals, or simping, it means your intelligent enough to know that you can be wrong and they can be right.

It's no wonder they compare everything to capeshit: they really do think the world is as simple as good guys vs bad guys and the good guys could quickly and easily usher in the utopia if not for the bad guys.

I don't know about other people, but my entire adult life has been one long nightmare of realizing the world is infinitely, unfathomably complex, that nothing can be taken for granted, that every detail always has to be accounted for, and no dilemma is ever completely solved.

Did any of these loonies and trannys actually leave Twitter yet?
They'll never leave. They're junkies who can barely go 24 hours without a dopamine fix.

Musk probably considered the unsustainability and logistical nightmare (not to mention how his money would be misused), and said “lol nope.” You can’t help those who make no effort to improve their situation. World hunger is an issue that will be with us forever.
Probably a lot of the existing aid infrastructure are glowie fronts as well. USAID has been busted setting up fake AIDS clinics and entire fake social networks. Kinda weird that "foreign aid" and "foreign propaganda" are the two jobs handled by the same agency when the CIA already exists, makes you wonder how much of it is actually economic warfare and deliberately educating dirt farmers to be bad at farming dirt, especially since there's century-old doctrine about how the only things that can threaten the West are Russia or Africa becoming prosperous.

He'd be right in thinking you can't just hand over the money and expect people to actually do their job, but it could be possible if you set up an objective-oriented organisation that you could somehow prevent becoming compromised the way they probably compromise all similar NGOs.
Kind of ironic that it'll probably be China doing all the work in the end, but actually logical if you think of it that way.

10 years ago the richest man in the world who's signing rocket contracts left and right with the US military industrial complex doing a hostile takeover of a major information platform would have been distopian fiction but now people are clapping because it owns some terminally online libs.
Sorry for late but I had to address this. The part you're leaving out is that the state of twitter was a dystopian nightmare before Elon bought it. At worst, nothing changes and we're in the same dystopian nightmare we were several days ago. But there is a slimmer of hope for improvement, so of course people will be happy.

This reminds me of an iconic bit of material that Sam Kinison did, where he encouraged his audience to stop sending money to world hunger organizations.

(abbreviated) “You wanna help ‘em? Send ‘em U-Hauls and luggage. Send ‘em a guy like me who goes ‘Hey…We’ve been driving out here with your food every day, 3 hours over and 3 hours back, and it occurred to us that there wouldn’t be world hunger if you people would live where THE FOOD IS!! YOU LIVE IN A FUCKING DESERT!! NOTHING GROWS/IS GONNA GROW OUT HERE!! THIS IS SAND!! A HUNDRED YEARS FROM NOW IT’S STILL GONNA BE SAND!! WE HAVE DESERTS IN AMERICA, WE JUST DON’T LIVE IN THEM, ASSHOLES!!!‘“

Musk probably considered the unsustainability and logistical nightmare (not to mention how his money would be misused), and said “lol nope.” You can’t help those who make no effort to improve their situation. World hunger is an issue that will be with us forever.

Iconic is correct.

Also missing the part where the purchase makes everything funnier

This is a historical event.

No one has ever spent $40 billion on something only to spend the following days talking incessantly about how shitty that thing is.
He's going to fucking break these people. It's gonna be like that scanners clip where the dudes head pops like a squished grape. The seething tantrums are going to be legendary.
Not since 11/9/16 have I seen this level of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
