If Just Some Guy's goal is to shed his "bigot" viewer base and image, uh, he's going to have a real hard time of going about it given that he is labelled "alt-right" on an institutional level.
A couple of months ago I was able to get hold of a copy of
Superhero Culture Wars (attached at bottom of post), the only published Comicsgate-related book in academic circulation. In it, JSP is given the lead role as a peddler of "alt-right perspective", even gaining top billing over "Ethan van Scriver", whoever that is.
Without exaggeration, JSP's chances of finding re-acceptance in conventional mainstream circles are literally as good as Frog's or Richard C Meyer's are, so he better get used to hanging around Mundane Matt, Nerdette and Forced Adversity.
Other stuff:
This is kinda sad. Frog is doing an art auction and it's been going for about 40 min. The only person to show up was charlies London(with nothing to sell) and no other artist has showed up yet. I remember when CG artist would prostrate themselves on a fire ant bed to get on
@FROG art auction.
While watching Frog boot Charlie's London for joining his auction stream
out of pity (along with Charlie's apologetic superchats afterwards) was some of the funniest CG shit I've seen in months, it was (as other posters said) jumping the gun to call the auction a failure as, just when it seemed like he was resigned to privating the auction stream out of shame like the last one, the entire CG Kings crew showed up with their centuries of experience to sell art that Frog wasn't embarrassed or ashamed to show on his platform. Frog was in very high spirits after watching everyone pull through against expectations , as evinced by his carrying on for over 8 hours and getting drunk off his ass while blasting copyrighted music. All it took was having art on that people would actually want to buy.
Ostensibly about him unsubscribing from Warren Ellis' newsletter, Simple Zack switches the topic from the title at about 45 seconds in to what he actually wants to make a video about: a long rambling monologue about 70s actor James Garner and his Hollywood escapades, and how Garner's real persona didn't fit the "cowardly hero" trope he portrayed. This complete non-sequitor goes on for eight grueling minutes of ADHD before Meyer inelegantly trying to dovetail the bait and the switch together by saying 'uh public and private faces are different with both James Garner and the SJWs thanks for watching bye'. Is this the beginning of some new Count Dankula-style content for Ya Boi, or simply the presaging a new era of bait-and-switch style youtubing.
Finally, after nearly
four years since the campaign launched, two creative teams and a lolsuit with said first creative team, Martina Markota
has announced that the creation Lady Alchemy has at long last been completed. Given the expense and time put in to fulfilling a project that could have just been abandoned, it begs the question of whether Martina will be returning to stick her hand on the proverbial hot oventop that is crowdfunding comics after this.
