But the problem here is that there's a lot of science semi literate and likely Elon Musk fanboys who associate nuclear power with Chernobyl, despite that reactor being well known for being built, in typical Soviet and Russian fashion, very shoddily with equally retarded staff that didn't even follow proper protocols. And of course, even the radioactive waste actually isn't the CIA reminiscent glowing barrels of green liquid. Now, the problem with thorium reactors is that they're pretty expensive to say the least. But I suppose that taxing the church even just a bit would help...hopefully.
That's not even the problem. Even the renewables simps begrudgingly admit that nuclear is safe, they just claim that it's not profitable or that it's too late to start building them.
You read that right. The watermelons who essentially argue for a command economy, if just for the energy and transportation sectors, become the ruthless venture capitalists they claim to hate as soon as you mention nuclear.
Now as for gas, I have a somewhat interesting suggestion. Why not just harvest it from cows? Yeah, you read that right, COWS! They seem to be big enough methane gas contributors, that I imagine one could probably harvest a good chunk of it that way. Or instead of just anally probing a cow for methane we could just grow the bacteria there and throw grass and algae at them so they produce methane.
I actually heard that mixing some type of algae in the feed supresses an enzyme responsible for the production of methane inside the digestive tract.
Nevertheless you can get methane from almost anything, it's even produced spontaneously in landfills. It's just more profitable to collect from reservoirs.
Remember Snowden? Seems to be doing just fine.
How many Russian secrets did he leak?

Worse. They sanctioned Russia to hell and back and still are expecting it to give them free gas.

I am actually surprised by all the indignant noises coming from the EU about "breach of contract" and "blackmail". Dudes. Dudes. You seized Russia's gold reserves and kicked it out of all your banking and legal institutions. Boo fucking hoo.

By kicking it out of EU you freed it from your courts jurisdiction. And you already closed your ports, closed your airspace, banned Russian trucks, confiscated Russian assets, nationalized Russian companies, fired Russian employees, cancelled Russian music and literature, disconnected Russia from SWIFT, pulled out all of your businesses and wrote a blank check for a war by proxy IN THE FIRST WEEK.

Cope, seethe, dilate and pay for the gas in roubles. Because there is literally nothing else that you can possibly do to punish Russia more.

Copium deliveries seriously affected by sanction regime. Without Russian supplies, it's expected that reserves will run out in another month and copium will have to be rationed out to the most needy checkmarks and bureaucrats.

Hmmm, regarding Assange, this is an interesting take.
Foreignpolicy is a very high quality news outlet according to this site, so it is definitely at least worth a read. For those who say that media bias fact check site is some sort of wokist, leftist (or Jewish, pick your favourite one) democrat (even tho Democrats are actually right wing) pedophile ring outlet, then can you suggest a supposedly legit media bias check site?
Oh, I also forgot to insert globohomo. Maybe even tranny ran.

Are you summoning the Butthurt Polack brigade? Because they show up around this time.
They keep raiding this thread from time to time in same manner byuu simps pay for ddos of our beloved forum. Still operate as usual.

It's not like this thread isn't one big cesspool already, thanks to them. The worst that could've happen - happened so let 'em fly into space through invoking astonishing butt hurt emissions. :suffering:

Do tell. I help develop a retro-game and I can't get my coin because PayPal decided to eat a lot of bags full of AIDS riddled dicks.
Yep, in dollars. And I can't get any because of sucktions.
Paypal and everything else. I think some eldritch payment providers can get you money into a Tinkoff account - I think Paysera was doing it as late as last month. Of course, cashing out of Tinkoff is an adventure of its own, and the taxman may take notice.

after the initial drop, russia reacted by implementing harsh capital controls, making it impossible or extremely impractical for people to trade rubles for foreign currency. as a result, trading volume has dropped to near zero, making the exchange rate pretty much meaningless (since basically no exchange is actually taking place)

Hah, it's happening because you literally can't buy anything with dollars anymore. People still get some as they prepare for vacation season in Turkey, Egypt and other popular holiday destinations.

The fuck it does. EU and US banks banned all UnonPay cards issued in Russia regardless of whether they belong to a sanctioned bank or not. Normally it would fall to UnionPay to make protesting noises because it kind of undermines the validity of their payment system AND is illegal - the non-sanctioned banks should be allowed to work - but they haven't done so, so it is still a useless piece of plastic.

Sber ain't better tho.
Sber's dead, Zed.

The Russian economy is apparently doing just fine. Full shops, no inflation, growing economy.

Yes they've been denied access to western services. Indispensable necessities like McDonalds and Instagram, but as global finished manufactured goods are almost all made in China unless they get Xi Jinping onboard the Russians will happily keep swapping their oil and gas for Android phones and Chink made machine tools.

This is the greatest example of pwning the bear by fucking yourself. If Putin does actually stop or even restrict hydrocarbon exports the EU will collapse. The seethe and cope coming out of DC and London can't change that reality. But the idiots in charge of the west are so retarded and delusional they'll keep pushing their proxy war in the expectation that one day Russia will be transformed into a diverse and inclusive outpost of globohomo with African migrants and a trans friendly government that will mandate gender reassignment surgery for 5 year olds. They can't give up the dream so they'll keep pushing their gay ops. Putin has shown remarkable restraint up to now, for all our sakes I hope that continues.
And the funny thing is, they didn't even seriously try to get Xi Jinping on board. Basically, they started with the threats against China almost as soon as the war started. (And of course, really that started before the war.) Now, I don't like the current fun-hating, soul-crushing Chinese government, and what they did in Hong Kong was disgusting (though I notice the reaction of the ra-ra slava Ukraine companies was completely different when that happened). If anyone was paying attention to "wolf warrior" diplomacy, they should already understand that China sees the West and the United States as the enemy. In that sense, trying to get Xi Jinping to turn against Russia was probably a fool's errand, but that meant there was always going to be a China sized hole in the sanctions regime.
