The replies can be summed up as "ackutually" with cherry picked sources that show a couple of lines that don't actually mean anything.
I got some idiots reacting to it including Andrew wortm a shit lib 193B5CA5-D543-4D40-9561-189A8E874882.jpegB1D1DCA4-4113-4C01-8132-8B43E8B065A9.jpeg2EA16E6E-5178-4DCA-98B4-52754869E556.jpeg5FB9F7CE-5F71-4D52-A24E-53650E7C203A.jpeg

"...banning words, subjects, and textbooks."

Words, subjects, and textbooks that didn't exist 15 years ago because even degenerate perverts would've considered the material inappropriate for children in a classroom. But no, it's totally, definitely the right wing that's shifted the Overton window.

Fuck these people.

Fuck I wouldn't want Twitter to be another /pol/.
So you don't want it to turn into a cesspit of low effort shitposting by glowniggers and FBI honeypot monitoring? Sort of what like Twitter is now, and always will be?

It's cute how retards act like they know what modern day 4chan is like without every having been there, even pre-gamergate when it was "based".

Looks like the new cope of the day is that Musk isn't actually serious about trying to buy Twitter and it's just to distract from Tesla stock falling. They are still clinging to the "he isn't actually serious about buying Twitter" line, even after he put a billion dollars on the line. I'm pretty excited to watch the cope be in constant flux right up until the day the deal goes through, I'm certain there's going to be some real conspiracy theories on the level of "here's how she can still win" or any of the multiple times they tried the Trump Russia narrative and failed.

While I completely agree with this, its infeasible to actually run a website like Twitter with this mindset. Musk is walking back slowly his promises for obvious reasons. Fuck I wouldn't want Twitter to be another /pol/. It would turn into political extremists trying to be one step ahead of the other. Eventually people would end up threatening violence (in minecraft) or even acting on it. Do you think Amazon Web Services would love having this on their server? What about as previously talked about, Apple have this on their app store?
Honestly, the only thing most /pol/ types are doing at the moment is what we're doing: laughing at the meltdowns and wondering what'll happen down the road. And in terms of the most ardent of right wing circles, they're mostly banking on all the suspensions being rescinded so they can come back, with Donald Trump being the big one.

Welp, RIP Discord and Reddit. You were both already shit, your both about to get a LOT worse…
Well, I think with Discord the biggest thing is that those places are just chat rooms, and the onky real issue would be with like Reddit with mods and admins going on power trips. And whatever is planned in the servers themselves, but honestly both sides do that if you ask me.

Here’s the thing, where can they really go? Per the few bits of the shambling corpse of Tumblr I’ve seen, they’e quote “Just gotten the site comfortable for normies”, I doubt they want to let the cancer back in, and might hilariously enough Gatekeep the shit out of any Twatter refugees.

Facebook is mostly Boomers and people like me who use it almost entirely for meme pages and groups, plus the random hate on these people apparently have for the Zucc. Tiktok and Youtube require effort - not much, but some, and are probably dead ends for the ugly ones…

The thing about Discord and Reddit is that there they have to work within spread out pages on specific topics and don't have the luxury of dictating discourse the same way as they do on Twitter where every piece of garbage flows into the same place.

Right, but they’re playing catch-up. Tesla are at 100k/month and have the capacity to keep delivering.

"But" nothing. VW is the #1 BEV OEM in Europe. They're now making their global push. Tesla's BEV market share in the EU fallen to around 13%. Since Tesla doesn't make PHEVs, it's an even smaller share of the total EV market. I wouldn't bet on VW to suddenly fail catastrophically at supply chain management now, as they start building BEV plants around the globe.

I'm not sure where the idea that legacy OEMs won't be able to find anyone to sell them batteries came from. Combined, they already buy more batteries than Tesla does. Tesla doesn't control any mineral supplies, it doesn't hold any key battery patents, and its main supplier, Panasonic, has been seeking to diversify away from Tesla and sell more batteries to other car companies.

Read some interesting tweets that Musk could turn Twitter into a cash cow fairly simply because the company is notorious in Silicon Valley for its labor costs. Overpaid superfluous employees everywhere. Twitter has 8000 employees and I've read credible people saying it could operate and achieve a large profit margin just by firing a bunch of people. That it could run with 2000 employees as a bare minimum (more likely 3000 or 4000). And since he will be the sole owner that profit goes straight to Elon and no one else (well, after taxes go to Uncle Sam).

230 being repealed means the death of this site entirely. Doesn’t exactly seem like a good trade especially since we’d just get more restricted and insulated social media platforms out of it
Just do like all the escort sites did a few years ago and get international hosting.

Hell think of how much money Musk would save by moving the Global HQ of Twitter to Miami (that is the rumor at least) and keeping the rest mostly remote. Just forcing the move to FL would DRAGISTY cut down on the amount of crazy jannies trannies at the company.

Teslabros in SHAMBLES

Pet the Teslabeleebers

Anyway, I suspect that Tesla will be fine despite this sudden burning compulsion to awkshoolly it that for some reason wasn't so burning before he bought Twitter

I would not be surprised if like half of Twitter are diversity hires and ever since everyone started working from home like 90% of the company just does nothing other than watch Netflix and blog all day. The maintenance crew are probably the only ones working for the most part.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say that Twitter, as an org, can probably run on less than 1000 people.

You need software back end, depending on where Twitter is hosted you may need some guys fine tuning your COTS/white label gear on a constant basis like Netflix has. But everything outside of the US can be run by a skeleton crew, relevant legal entities and whoever else you have on the custodial side. Can probably close most offices and just let one single office handle the entirety of the EU.

What I wouldn't know is how many people/contractors/etc you'd need for actual content moderation.

VW is the #1 BEV OEM in Europe.
They make the worst electric/hybrid cars. Hyundai/Kia will probably rule the world in terms of EV before any European company will.

Probably a dummy question, but Florida really doesn't like the woke crowd, and both Florida & Texas both intensely dislike the current administration.

If Section 230 does indeed get fucked with, what are the odds that if Elon moved Twitter to one of those states, that they allow or even tell Elon to continue on and ignore the changes?

If potentially they did, what could the repercussions be?
