Not to beat a nearly-dead old horse, but with Kims mom having custody, and possibly being incapacitated/dead, is there a provision for a family member or a social worker or somebody to have to step in and arrange for a competent adult to care for Aiden?
And I already know CPS is too busy/don’t care etc. but I’m wondering about the technicalities of his custody. If something bad happened to Aiden now, god forbid, who dropped the ball here?
It’s the same if something happened to Sammies mom, who would take Lucy and Bently? You wouldn’t expect Sammie or their real dad to just show up and take them because they don’t have custody.

i’m gonna assume with lucy and ben, if something happens to meemaw bushart, one of sam’s sisters would step up. sabrina’s very young but she’s a pretty active parent figure to them. or maybe their baby daddy (whose name i cannot remember for the life of me) will actually step up. iirc he has a new wife and a new kid, so i’m assuming he’s a somewhat able guardian. sammie’s kids are safe from sammie’s clutches, thank god. but aiden? god, that poor boy literally has no one, doesn’t he? at least in the immediate family. i recall him visiting some relatives and they had actually cleaned him up and fed him and he looked happy in those pictures. but those were cousins or something. even if they were willing to take him in, kim would probably be chosen over them by the judges.
