Too many long nose fellas dumped the majority of their firms cash and then some into Tesla after the shilling from Baggy Kathy and Elon split the stock so much it created a panic buy among the smaller long nose tribes to FOMO before it goes to 1k for like the 5th time before another stock split. Elon became Bogdanoff Jr according to the CRAB-17 and now owns the western world by it's precious fiat.

He bought the company because he out-maneuvered their no stock owning board by making the big sum offer that if they refused they would get sued/go to jail over. Moderators here seem to operate under strict code of conduct rules with strict agnosticism towards ideology.. , you can say shit here that would kick up a giant hell storm on social media.. but as long as you are not an a-logging sperg or go out of your way to harass others or 1 sided containment threads; you are okay.

That is you'll get into an argument with someone, you'll call each other a bunch of names, have a bit of a back and forth, if you go to far people in your vicinity will start to bitch at you, then you'll break up and that's that. Only if it becomes a major disturbance do mods step in.

Meanwhile in other places mods micromanage conversation and especially conflict. If someone says something retarded and you call them a retard, mods immediately step in and break it up. Nothing gets resolved, everything is left to fester. And not only that. People quickly learn that the way to get around that is to become extremely passive aggressive, adopt fake politeness, and get in good with the moderation staff so they take your side (and the mods get involved in every bitchfight, even if it's just to break it up, they inevitable take sides as a consequence).

Oh and if someone is a really awful person it's a lot easier for them to hang around in a place where they can use the mod team as an enabling shield against mockery and humiliation. People who are to anxious and can't handle online conversation will leave places like Kiwi Farms.

All of that combined and places like this become a lot more chill than conflict averse communities (most of the rest of the internet by now).

Speaking for myself, but I suspect a proportion of farmers are in this category too - I’ve been on the Internet for as long as it’s been around, on many different forums, IRC, whatever. Been through many a flame war and schism, seen all styles of moderation - at the end of the day, assholes on the Internet will bicker and form factions. I can now largely ignore or passively enjoy most of it, even as the internet bickering has grown in relevance to the real world (I.e all politicians and leaders are now part of it too).
As a Gen-xer, Kiwifarms is my retirement community.
