If he's smart, day one he fires literally everyone he can and starts over. Beyond just what Obama and Biden and everyone did. Literally everyone he can fire, he fires. If there aren't articles and talking heads screeching about how he's lost his mind and is intentionally killing America and why does he hate Jews so much and won't SOMEONE think of the poor unelected pencil pushers?! by that afternoon, he hasn't fired enough people yet.

Day 2 or 3 will be when some Hawaiian Judge issues an injunction saying he can't fire people because he doesn't REALLY count as a president, of course. "You can't fire them that's you discriminating over them being a Democrat, and we've decided that's illegal now." That sort of thing.

You know there's a certain level of person a president can't fire without good reason, right? like if they're sufficiently low on the list or lack a certain amount of power, they become an inferior officers, and Congress may determine that their removal may be for cause instead.

Yeah, the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 was a mistake and its allowed a deep state of embedded, unaccountable bureaucrats to run things. Rip it all out and start over.

I remember Trump trying to get that rule changed in his last months, yeah. Hopefully in 2025.

It's pretty hard baked into Constitutional Law, lime a hundred years of precedent. It won't be easy to change, you'd basically have to rewrite the entire system.

It's like how Clarence Thomas believes that our 14th Amendment protections enforcement against private actors should've arisen out of the Privileges and Immunities Clause instead of the Commerce Clause is probably the correct interpretation, but you can't really do that because that would require redeciding the last 150 years of Constitutional law to do that

An older friend I've known for years recently passed. He was an F-4 Phantom pilot in Nam and dropped shit tons of napalm all over the place.

We were texting one day and I was telling him about Chi, a Vietnamese neighbor of mine (decent guy). He texted me back with a simple reply -- "Looks like I missed one."

Really miss that bastard.
