General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

They probably know each other from the characters first, and real names second, which leads to the interesting context when they are hanging out IRL, as they need to remind themselves to refer to each other by their cartoon girl names while having to avoid the fuck out of it in public, lest the random waiter on their eating out collab recognize them. What a pain in the ass that has to be lol!
I think the reason Mori is the famous tuber least worried about being spotted irl is because her dad was a minor famous dude, so she's gotten some sane advice or has a little experience with it. If you're Somebody and somebody else recognizes you you can just say "Ah hey thanks" and do finger-guns or whatever and go on about your business and everything's fine—way more than 99% of the time.

I know she's kinda retarded but I was disappointed in (or sad about) Moom last week when she revealed how scared she is that someone might recognize her. 1) We like you, stupid. 2) How a crazy person acts is not up to you. If they want you they'll get you. The worst anyone else will do is be a repulsive nerd while they thank you for being their almost-imaginary friend. Be nice.

Kiara's an exception because she sends out prey-animal wrestle-me vibes and should be guarded all the time. She needs a frightening husband. I've heard Mel's like that too. I don't know who she really is, but the quality is easy to spot and Hololive should have a specialist who recognizes it and helps those girls—and tells the others to fucking relax.

That shit where Kronii freaked out when she called Fauna Fauna at Taco Bell was cringe to death.

Jesus. Is it impossible for these people to just shut the fuck up? Like honestly. Nobody cares about her life story or her morals on lewds of cartoon children. You make money pretending to be an anime girl, shut up, smile for the camera, make a personal account to vent your tard rage, and all would be fine. Its the easiest job in the world, yet these bitches manage to fuck it up somehow. My god.

Most problems in this community would be solved if people used literally any other account than their company owned one to do their sperging. Rushia, this bitch, the other 50 screeching about something or other. Just make a different account. Its not rocket science. Or better yet, keep your mouth shut and just get the money. Its anime girls, yet these people act like they're taking blood money
You're completely right. It all stems from a concept that has been pushed for a while now. It says if you have a 'platform' you MUST use it, or else you are complicit in whatever social cause has trapped you in it's web. It's why you saw so many normal entertainers speaking about the dreaded January 6th, or how they all have to have statements regarding Ukraine, or right now it's all about abortion yada yada... They have to morally grandstand because they are convinced it's what they have to do to remain on the good side.

This girl's situation is somewhat different, as I imagine she may not have ever brought up the lolicon thing if it wasn't for this accidental discovery, but to equate loli stuff (AKA things that aren't real) to the reality of actual kids who have been abused, is never a great look even if it bothers you personally. The lolicons shouldn't pretend that there's no reason people would find their stuff weird (or disgusting depending on how much one believes it reflects real life). However acting like this girl acted only serves as a virtue signal that clears her own conscience, yet because of the parasocial relationship most entertainers have with their audiences, it leaves fans of hers (or loli crusaders) that disagree with the sentiment feeling as if they are being put on blast personally and that they have to 'defend themselves'. Not to mention the actual dumbest part ties into exactly what you mentioned and that I referenced in my above paragraph, that she did this on her official corpo account. Burning bridges with a company that didn't do anything to you and seemingly does good work, all because you had to let as many people as possible know how much you dislike a certain type of art, is 101 of bad corporate communication.

Also, she may or may not be making up the sexual assault thing, but everyone will always see admitting something like this, while you're in the middle of being controversial, as a way to paint yourself as a victim to shield yourself from criticism. The Kevin Spacey defense has never worked for a good reason, it's because your goodwill has already been burned out and people won't pity you after they feel like they've lost their trust in you.

tl;dr
I believe people like having influence, and so of course they want to use their big official accounts to let everyone know their opinions ESPECIALLY if they can virtue signal and show how moral they are.

So aparently this is a thing since there are almost 40k viewers, Mio calling some holoJP members at 6am in Japan to hear how they'll react.
you don't want to hear your oshi's sleepy morning voice?

Lastly, my favorite moments are still the two performances from 3rd Fes that got me hooked on anime girls professionally singing and dancing:
welcome down the rabbit hole, enjoy your stay.

RIP badonkadonk dragon ;_;7

I think the biggest problem when it comes to this lies mainly in the people who are extremely open about being against it are usually the same people that repost the same shit they bitch about. "Hey look, I'm against this because it's CP, here, let me repost it so you can look at it". Or they are often exposed for liking it or caught grooming kids online. Or like that other dumb bitch that was crying because some random person used the world "loli" to describe her when her model was clearly a loli yet she somehow failed to understand the concept. What really gets me is the need to announce it to the world. No one gives a shit if you like it or if you are against it. Bringing it out in the open will only do 1 thing. Alienate a portion of your potential audience, which is fine if you are indie.
but how would everybody know what you're righteously outraged about? gotta show everyone that drawn lines in a certain way are superbad, otherwise the whole virtue signaling thing wouldn't work. people who know the terms already got their opinion one way or another, throwing a public fit is completely performative at that point.

it becomes especially retarded when said normies, who have no concept what's even bitched about, just see a drawing and can understand it's a drawing. it's like trying to explain your boomer parents why cartoon violence is bad and tom & jerry should be banned (animal cruelty you guys!).

If its morals they're after they're in the wrong line of work

Some self defense classes might also help, Cover just spring for some DUST mentorship for their prey animal members and their survivability in the wild will surely increase. :smug:

Gremlin time?
Gremlin time.
It's interesting to see how Gura has both changed a bit and not changed much at all. She swears like a sailor in here and not in modern day but other than that (and comments like "suck my dick") the things she says seem pretty normal for her.
Chickin and Water Bowl collab now:

(The url says "P0o", hehehehe)

EDIT: Isn't there a vtuber who's a bear (not like Uruka, an actual bear), who reviews tools or something? I vaguely remember seeing that.
I only saw 20 something min but I still had plenty of fun. The ending section was Europe and all was real funny. Kobo is so fucking cute, especially how she got excited when Kiara was proud of her. The dynamic is wholesome and sweet, like a daughter trying to impress her mom. But Kobo still some funny ridiculous shit like the pantsu thing.

As soon as I heard it, I knew I had to clip it.

By the way, I'm still looking for a good way to download part of a video without getting the whole thing. I tried yt-dlp with ffmpeg but for some reason it always downloads the entire video no matter what I do. If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears.
Yt-dlp doesnt work for me.

I basically use 5KPlayer which downloads the whole video (which is god awful) but most of the videos have a fucked up audio. So I also use any other browser "youtube to mp3" sites to get the audio file and then merge it to the video.

Also, I was looking at pictures of Tenmas cutout from Offkai. and I must say...she doesn't look too flattering tbh

It honestly looks like another character in her outfit. Such a midget bod too.
I agree, it looked a bit weird to me. Its the only one toom guess it has more to do with the pose than anything.

Ah shit, looks like it's time for some Keeki doomposting. Here's hoping the freaks didn't come out tonight.

Probably another incident of some creepy dude walking into a fast food and sitting next to her.

Just remembered a more unique model, may not be what you mean and I personally can't attest for their streams either way, but honey goblin had a more unique design iirc: https://www.twitch.tv/honey_goblin
Honey Goblin is great and she has an amazing talking voice. Haven't really watched much of her because she only streams on Twitch and I barely go there.

As someone who has only ever watched either of these two in passing or while they were in a group with Pippa or Tenma... Holy shit this has been an entertaining random YouTube suggestion lol pretty sure at least one of them was high
