General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Anyway, here's a Big One™. Iinchou herself is finally making moves on the international members, after learning that Pomu and Alban are interested in her.

Amamiya Kokoro was doing a tour yesterday and got to meet new members so you can definitely feel the walls crumbling down.
Sasaki did her tour a few days ago as well, expect a whole string of these stream to come up. Kinda weird that they lose their items when changing servers, I don't remember this being an issue with the Holo servers

Question for the general thread posters, if you had a 1 on 1 with your oshi for 2 minutes, what would you say or ask her?
Thought about it, and honestly I have zero desire to interact with any of them in person in any way. I like streams and clips for entertainment, but meeting them irl seems like it would be awkward and redundant. Sure it would be cool if we worked together on something, or if we hit it off and talked about some shared interest, but that applies to everyone. So yeah, I'll stick with what they put online.

Clip tax - Kronii with the "Krona virus" just talking.

I dunno why it's a running meme but why is it that women are usually the more unfiltered ones when it comes to vulgar humor and "peculiar" tastes?
I always assumed it was just because there are more men on the internet and most men would find girls being horny hot but not guys doing the same so they pander to that but then Luxiem came and proved me wrong so I don't know anymore.

There are more guys in the vtubing fandom section of the internet, at least, but the girls who there as well are very passionate.

She'll have to ask Finana to see the EN server since that one isn't linked yet. Amamiya did, but Amamiya is apparently decently active in the Niji World Discord server, while I doubt that Iinchou is. That being said, her seeing just the World, KR, and ID servers is good too.

Looks like Mito will be getting a tour from Mr. Selenium Ryutsuki (as Google Translate puts it). Selen knows maybe two or three words total in Japanese, though, so she'll be asking for translations from chat. Here's Selen's post about it.

Third day of MaiR's karaoke stream, J-Rock day.

For something different, Masaki Kanon (Indie)'s live.
Formerly Nekonoki Mochi from .LIVE who "graduated" together with Yozakura Tama

Hanabasami Kyou who is on hiatus is returning today with a premiere starting 9.30 JST but since she's part of Re:AcT I can't help but worry.

Also I see Korone is going to start Super Mario RPG, one of the last great SFC/SNES releases. Knowing her she's going to play it on Super Famicom and it's going to be interesting to see differences between the JP and NA versions (Bowser/Koopa flipping the screen as victory pose in JP version for example).

Seems like the 1st year anniversary project Pomu's been working on is gonna be a Lazulight cover of Virtual to Live (Niji's anthem), although I guess that's not really much of a shock.

Do you mean 1 on 1 as in "virtual handshake during an event" thing, or as in "actual, genuine talk with her as a person" thing?

If I had to stay in character, I'd probably ask about things she'd like to do on a stream but will never be able to, or maybe something related to her membership streams from a while ago.

If it was an IRL conversation, I'd ask about her meeting her genmates for the first time - how do you make your acquaintance with people who will be playing anime girls alongside you, do they even introduce themselves with their real names at all and stuff like that. Maybe about more technical aspects of being a hololive idol, to confirm some things we kinda already know, but we're not 100% sure.

I'm significantly older than my oshi's roommate, so I would probably feel like an actual pedo if that ever happened though.

Live Redirect: move your audience to the live stream or Premiere of your choice

Hi creators,

Today we’re introducing Live Redirect on YouTube: a new feature that lets you send your audience to the Premiere or live stream of your choice – including other creator’s channels – as soon as yours ends. This also means other creators can redirect to you!

With Live Redirect, you can build excitement for an upcoming Premiere and help your fans spontaneously discover new creators (and show them some well deserved love!). Tip: Start by building out the list of channels that can redirect to you, and then try this out in an upcoming stream.

We’ve added built-in features so you have control over who can redirect to your YouTube channel. Keep the default YouTube Studio setting (any channel you’re subscribed to can redirect to you, so long as your subscriptions are public), or update it to only allow Live Redirects from specific channels that you’ve approved. Learn more about how to update your Live Redirect settings in our Help Center.

More Live Redirect Q&A below – will keep an eye on the comments and update with answers based on your top questions and feedback.

Oh boy, raids. Exactly what we needed..

If used properly they can be good. Like sending an audience to check out a smaller channel and such, but it usually just devolves into thousands of people spamming and interrupting whatever stream they raid.

This could be the chicken's way to get her fairy collab. Send KFP over to interact with the pomudachi. Create a demand for a collab between the two. I'm sure there would be a rule in place to prevent that though, if they even allow it to be enabled in the first place. Wishful thinking.

Sorry if this was already posted, but it popped up in my recommendations.
Someone already post a better translated, non-clickbaiting, superior version, but here.
Guess that put one side of the discussion to rest. Whatever RushiNeko did, whether how bad it is, Kson know more about it than we will ever know and decide to still be her friend.

Masaki Kanon live

I forget who she was in her PL, either .Live or Yumesaki Kaede from Gamebu.
I spoilered her PL in my post above. The Yumesaki Kaede you mentioned, Kaede V1 is now Yuzuriha Honami and Kaede V2 is now Himawari Hachiya.

Late last year Kanon reached out to ex-Idolbu Yaezawa Natori (now Kayamori Emma/Emma Chouette) which is nice since they were quite close before the sudden graduation.

Also regarding Hanabasami Kyou's announcement, she will have a mini live Sunday 8 May at 8PM JST for her official return from health related hiatus.

Are there any VTubers with characters that aren't anime girls?!
Since people are still giving out recommendations, I may as well join in.
I've mentioned it in the past, but it bears repeating:

Fredrik Knudsen, the Down the Rabbit Hole guy, streams on Twitch.
His streams are mostly like Pippa's zatsudan streams in that he'll have an initial idea of laughing at something stupid or interesting on the internet, and tangent from there.
Some streams are mini Down the Rabbit Holes, or are follow-ups to previous topics.
I may as well sweeten the deal; his vtuber avatar, Loren, has a boatload of Rule 63 big titty harpy fanart:

Something for everyone.

As an aside: During a recent Zatsudan, Tsukino Mito said that only 3% of her viewers are non-Japanese. Definitely worth keeping in mind when measuring 2434's domestic influence because it means some of the company's big names are still almost entirely untouched by overseas viewers. In an average 10K Mito stream, overseas viewers would only account for <300 of them.
Not surprising in the slightest, since most people outside of Japan/Korea/SEA who are even into Nijisanji did so because of NijiEN and act like they were always a super fan of it because of EN interactions or the VERY few clips (compared to Holo's reach) that actually are floating around which doesn't really give you a full idea of many of the talents or what they do as a whole (since a lot of content aren't really good for clipping) but due to having an EN branch now, a lot of them are doing their english reps mostly to get an en audience (thus more money) and to interact with their new kouhais. Though speaking of clips, it's not surprising to see many holo exclusive clippers jumping to Niji in general now, they'll probably go back to Holo once EN Gen3 pops off but still.

I know this is essentially the 'raid' feature but dear god do I not trust Youtube with this feature with their absolute perfect ability to somehow fuck it up in the long run.

Edit: Yeah..

Kind of defeats the purpose, but it's wonderful for the circle jerks/group of streamers (e.g Holo/Niji etc) and as expected, terrible for the general populace, similar to Twitch's raids and "boosting" that really doesn't benefit those who need it.

With many people dreading the raiding feature it isn't as bad as an implementation as many feared.
