On the topic of the SC leak/Roberts, I’d agree that even if he doesn’t change his vote because of the leak… that option is now on the table, when realistically it really wasn’t before. More than anything, that should scare the Dem’s shitless. The Biden Admin has really been grinding the SC’s gears, and there’s only so long you can do that before they start retaliating. Roe Vs. Wade isn’t the only SC decision the Left benefits from with bad legal precedent.

In my professional opinion that stupid symbols stuff was put out there to waste everyone's time in looking for symbols and saying "see? see?" to no purpose. I was wondering recently why the Dems haven't taken the opportunity to de-schedule marijuana. It would be an easy slam dunk while they still have the majority, and have fewer risks than the abolishment or reduction of student loans. I was thinking they might be saving it for closer to the midterms but why not dangle the idea as the carrot instead of the loan forgiveness? Could they be waiting for Kamala to get in before they start the procedure to decriminalize federally, as a way of making up for her track record with prosecutions? It's making me thunkful emoji.

Roe has given establishment Democrats cover to avoid detailing exactly what they want abortion policy to be on a national level. The blue enclaves can have local reps pushing to codify abortion access throughout pregnancy (as Gavin Newsom is currently doing in California), but when you get Senators like Blumenthal pushing the same on a national platform it polls way worse. Only like 35% of the country either wants a total ban or total access. The rest want some compromise between the end of the first trimester to the middle of the second. Republicans have been passing laws in their states conforming to the majority opinion. Democrats are now forced by their activist base to push for laws conforming to something only 15% of the country wants.
They're coming off as blindsided because they know how much this'll fuck them but they have no option but to double down.
