Just like with Smiley being berated for hours on stream, Jim Jones would do similar things to followers for making the basic slip up.
He would start emergency meetings that were required for all followers and put a single person who messed up on stage and just berate them and have the crowd join in for hours upon hours.

Its the idea that you can show not only what will happen but also include your followers to make them feel more apart of it.

In the show, there is a character named Nate Jacobs who is a tranny chaser and has a grindr profile (but he claims that he's straight) and is also physically and verbally abusive towards women. Nate Jacobs' dad, Cal, is a gay tranny chaser too (he hooks up with both underage trans girls and young men). He's also abusive, possesses CP, and it's implied that he molested Nate when he was a child. Both characters are in the closet. Nick probably relates to both Nate and Cal. :lol:

The show is about troons but it's also about other fucked up too. It tries to be edgy but it's corny most of the time. Sam Levinson gets away with a lot because the actors playing the characters are in their twenties. TBH, I would be more surprised if Nick said he wasn't into this show.
