Shitting on Ayame will somehow never get old. I'm sorry for that one guy here that updates us on her member stuff and bits... Even if it is far and few between the updates (I'll stop now it's too easy).

(Yes it's a shitpost edit I found, here the original source, the artist makes some really cool shit)

Nijisanji have moved away from it since Obsydia (I think Mumei, Reimu, and Enna were hired for their content creation prior to being a V-Tuber and not necessarily because they were one).
That's not true at all. Every wave has had a statistical percentage of indies over misc. creatives.

If we go by your statement, Ethyria still had a indie vTuber rep in Nina. Her past life isn't hard to find since she has a strong anti following on bilibili uploading unflattering clips. When it comes to Luxiem; Luca, Mysta and Shu all had prior experience as vTuber's on Twitch, with the latter two having collaborated with Elira's past-life. Continuing the rrat of Elira's nepotism hires over on /vt/. Even Uki is a friend of Elira pre-debut, meaning that more than 1/4th of EN is from the same networking hub. Ike strictly produced music, continuing the trend that each wave have at least one vocally competent addition. Noctyx wise, Fulgur had some prior experience but not to the extent of Alban, who had a full 3D model. Yugo and Sonny's backgrounds have been discussed to death, so we know for a fact they aren't from the indie vTuber space.

Ironically the most successful male of the lot, Vox, didn't have any affiliation to the industry. Showing that maybe hiring your friends from the vTuber space isn't always the right course of action.

Really, the only pure vtuber that Cover has hired seems to be Ame.
Ame wasn't a V-Tuber, she was a fleshy Twitch streamer that said nigger a lot.

Mumei was a twitch V-Tuber but her main viral body of work came from YouTube covers and animations. Bae might have had a VA channel (first I've heard of it) but I really do think the portfolio she submitted was mostly Marica Bellerose stuff.

Shannon (Enna) appeared as a guest on Lyrica's streams since at least August 2020 (as they both watched Ryuusei Nova's (Elira) debut on Twitch), but she didn't start streaming herself until only a couple of months before she graduated in October 2021 as far as I can find. The earliest Shannon stuff I can find was her as a PNGTuber. Marie (Reimu) did the exact same thing, so I think they were both hired for their cover songs.

Edit: I might be a retard but I literally don't remember Ame PL as a V-Tuber at all what the fuck.

I think we have a disagreement on qualification here. Monkeyism has been producing content for like 8-9 years or something but was only a V-Tuber for the last couple of months. Reimu and Enna were established as Utaite and barely as V-Tubers. Same goes for Luca, Fulgur, and Alban who were producing content as themselves even if they had a model.

Having a model doesn't necessarily mean that scouts are 'pulling from the V-Tuber sphere' except for Lyrica and Kaito, who were pretty much ONLY V-Tubers playing a character. The only reason I'd qualify Pearl isn't because he was established as a V-Tuber over an Utaite, but because he was part of Hanamori.

So with that, of Ethyria, Luxiem, and Noctyx, only 4 of the 14 members were V-Tubers. I don't count the others for the same reason I wouldn't count Pokimame as a V-Tuber if she joined Holo/Niji.

Not only was she a vtuber she was one of the first Western vtubers... She just wasn't crazy popular like say Ironmouse or whatever.

And proof on how early she was. With very little research, her first stream was in March 2017 and she was already vtubing in May 2018. For comparison's sake, ironmouse her first stream was in August 2018, Hololive Gen 1 also debuted in May, and Nijisanji was created in February of that year.

Seems like Hololive is calling up for Spanish speakers to help them translate. Might also indicate that they're interested in making an espanol branch. Far as I know, that community's pretty massive, but also fucking wild. They might pull off another Nijisanji India if they don't execute something like this right.

Speaking of Nijisanji India, does anyone remember the specifics of what happened to Niji India? I remember they switched the names 3 times, and that it was a marketing failure, but why was it a marketing failure in the first place, other than India literally having no interest in VTubers back in 2020?
